Carpool Canvass from Boston to Maine!

Join Swing Left on a day trip to knock doors with Ground Truth—our deep-listening canvassing program. We’re heading to Maine—a must-win Swing State—to knock on doors and build trust to persuade voters to support Troy Jackson. You don’t need to be a policy expert—just a good listener!
The Mission: Deep Listening This isn’t your standard canvass. Through Ground Truth, we are changing how Democrats talk—and more importantly listen—to voters:
Knock More Doors: We don’t narrowly target likely Democrats. We cast a wide net and to truly understand the pulse of the community – and find people open to voting for Dems.
Deep Listening: We have real, two-way conversations. We’re not pitching or arguing; we’re listening to voter experiences, fears, and values. Then we’re sharing a bit about our candidate to win them over once trust is already built.
Capture Insights: You’ll be taking detailed notes on the voters you meet. These insights help us identify persuadable voters and provide campaigns with the deep intelligence they need to win.
What to expect:
The Trip: For this weekend (10/11), Boston-based organizer Isabelle will pick up volunteers from the Medford/Somerville/Cambridge area between 9:00-10:00 am. Pickup and carpool captain details TBD following this weekend; option to carpool with friends from your own town to meet Isabelle there is always there!
Canvassing: We’ll be knocking on doors in from roughly 12:00-5:00pm with a break in the middle.
Preparation: You’ll receive all training materials, location details, and support from your carpool captain. You will be walking door-to-door, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing like sunscreen, a hat, and an umbrella/poncho are recommended.
The conversations we have today could be the tipping point. See you on the bus!
