Drop the Charges Rally

Organizations across Western and Central Massachusetts are coming together in solidarity with Etel Haxhiaj (former Worcester councilwoman), who participated in the May 8, 2025 LUCE rapid response action in Worcester, the first community-led anti-ICE action in the country. Across the nation, community members and elected leaders are being criminalized and murdered for protecting their neighbors. Despite this, Special Prosecutor Steven Gagney continues to pursue charges related to the Eureka Street incident. Etel has maintained her innocence and is preparing to fight these charges in court.

Now is the time to stand together to defend our neighbors and support those targeted for acts of care and courage.

Organized by Worcester Indivisible, Indivisible Northampton, Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution, Indivisible West Quabbin, Standing Up for Racial Justice – Worcester, Refuse Fascism, Independent Socialist Group.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
– Attendees must commit to nonviolence.
– No weapons, no illegal substances, no alcohol.
– Attendees must agree to follow the direction of the action lead and marshals.
– Attendees should agree not to engage with counterprotesters (unless as marshals).
– Attendees agree to NOT block pedestrians, sidewalks, streets, or entry to buildings.
