Footprints: A Neighborhood Indigenous Walking Tour in Brookline
September 6 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm EDT
This is a two hour walking tour led by a non-Indigenous Brookline couple on streets with short walks on wooded paths and in a hilly cemetery along an ancient pathway of the Massachusett Tribe. Land in what is now Brookline was on a seasonal pathway of the Neponset band of the Massachusett, with a village, burial ground and planting fields midway between their winter home at Nonantum (Newton) and summer home at Moswetusset Hummock (Quincy). A core principle behind all Indivisible and coalition partner events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
