Alain and Alexis Michel are Haitian-American community members with firsthand experience navigating the U.S. immigration system and a strong commitment to supporting immigrant families. Through years of interpretation, grassroots organizing, and community care, they have worked closely with Haitian families facing uncertainty and helped them understand shifting immigration policies.
At this meeting, they will provide an urgent, accessible overview of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians, including the latest federal court decision and its real-world implications for families living, working, and building lives in the U.S. They will address impacts on work authorization, family stability, and long-term security, and share practical, up-to-date community resources to help attendees respond, prepare, and support one another. Their goal is to ensure participants leave with clear information, a stronger understanding of what is at stake, and tools to help protect affected Haitian families.
