Indivisibles March in 4th of July Parade, Stoughton
July 4 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am EDT
Indivisibles – celebrate our 250th, and show up as a patriot to all in our community! You don’t need to bring a sign – there will be a job for you! We will march with our non-partisan patriotic signs and banners, and hand out candy to kids and flyers to curious adults. If you wish to make your own sign, use a positive 4th of July/patriotic theme or a Stoughton theme and non partisan, such as: “We the People,” “We Hold These Truths to be Self-evident,” “All are Created Equal,” “No Kings for 250 years,” “To This We Mutually Pledge our Lives, Fortunes & Sacred Honor,” “Stoughton 300 Years.” Remember: we want to make allies in our community — not put people off.
Marchers pledge to abide by the town’s parade rules here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Iy1kPSJZt65p8E0LdbWFN4Zeuclr7YMHh-Rq_Mvs0kQ/edit?usp=sharing
We meet at 8:30 AM to carpool to the start. The parade forms at 9, steps off at 10, travels 1-1/2 miles and ends at about 11 AM.
Dress for the weather, and have water, hat and sunscreen. You’ll get a cool drink at the end!
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
