MA Rental Voucher Program-Advocacy and Cookie Day
February 11 @ 9:30 am – 2:00 pm EST
We need people like you to tell your stories to legislators and urge them to support resources for unhoused and low-income families. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Lee at jasonl@saveourhomes.org.
Cookie Day is an annual advocacy event where low-income tenants, families, providers, elected officials, and community members unite to expand and deepen the impact of the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program. The event earned its name from the tradition, started by Homes for Families, of families and advocates handing out house-shaped cookies to elected officials as a reminder to support MRVP.
9:30AM – Doors open in the Hall of Flags and attendees will have a chance to sign in and grab some breakfast.
10:00AM – Advocates, community members, and legislators will meet at the Hall of Flags to hear personal stories of using MRVP and from leading legislators in affordable housing.
12:00PM – Following the speaking portion, people will head out to legislative meetings and to hand out cookies. Be sure to schedule a meeting with your elected officials and reach out to Kathryn Smith at kathryns@saveourhomes.org if you need help scheduling.
