SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:Common Start Advocacy Day
DESCRIPTION:Please join Common Start at the Massachusetts State House on March 5th to advocate directly to House Representatives about the House FY27 budget proposal\, and to ensure that the Common Start priorities are reflected in the FY27 budget proposal that gets released in April. \n\n\n\nImportant events like this allow us to talk in-person with legislators and legislative staff about our FY27 budget priorities\, including increasing the number of families receiving child care financial assistance\, growing funding for the C3 operational grant program to support additional child care providers\, moving Massachusetts further toward child care reimbursement rates that cover the true cost of delivering high-quality care\, and delivering much-needed funding for Head Start providers. \n\n\n\nIf you are new to advocacy days or advocating directly at the State House – no worries! We will have materials and training provided for everyone who joins\, and this is a great opportunity to learn first-hand how everyone in the Commonwealth can advocate for Common Start priorities to their legislators. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nCommon Start Advocacy DayTime: Thursday\, March 5\, at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PMLocation: State House Cafe\, 4th floor of the Massachusetts State House (24 Beacon St\, Boston\, MA 02133)

SUMMARY:Speak Their Names: A Boston Massacre Anniversary Vigil | Protest in Dedham
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by Neponset Valley Progressives and Dedham Democrats \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen shots were fired in Boston on March 5\, 1770\, colonists responded with outrage\, demanding a government that answered to and protected the people. The parallels between events culminating in the Boston Massacre\, and those taking place today are striking. Like British troops back then\, ICE and CBP agents are occupying our cities to enforce\, even violently\, the whims of an autocrat. To highlight those parallels\, Neponset Valley Progressives and the Dedham Democratic Town Committee will sponsor a candlelight vigil in Dedham Square. On that date\, we will hold (already-created) signs bearing the names of each person killed by ICE and CBP along with those who have died in ICE custody. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn March 5\, 2026\, we gather in that same spirit for a candlelight vigil to remember those who have died in ICE custody and to resist policies that strip people of their rights. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe need at least 50 people to hold signs memorializing the 40+ people who have died in ICE custody since early 2025. We will supply the signs and candles. Church bells will ring and songs will be sung. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
