DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible event! EVERY SUNDAY! Noon to 1:30pm will be standing out to show resistance against the fascist regime that is trying to take over our country! Join us if you care! \n\n\n\nThis is a weekly local Indivisible event! \n\n\n\nWe are Patriots Standing Up for Democracy! We will be at the Barre Common on Rt. 122 every Sunday from noon to 1:30pm. Please bring your signs or banners and join us! All are welcome! We have copies of the U.S. Constitution and pins available. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nWe will happily take a donation for the Barre Food Pantry. SUMMARY:Building Effective Resistance through Citizen Activism
DESCRIPTION:The abuses that led to the American Revolution–rule by a king\, troops seizing people without a warrant\, using office for personal gain\, arresting people for what they say–are all being repeated in our time.  People who have studied authoritarian takeovers all agree that popular resistance can make the difference between a democracy’s survival or death.  Come find out how citizen activism can reverse authoritarian trends\, what popular resistance has looked like over the past year\, and what we have to prepare for in the next three years.  Learn about the impact of ICE activity in Massachusetts\, how LUCE has evolved to become a potent force for immigrant justice and equity in the state\, and effective actions that people can take now to support at-risk populations. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers:  \n\n\n\nToby Sackton has been a lifelong movement activist in the Boston area and has lived in Lexington for 40 years.  He was one of the founders of Lexington Alarm on Patriots Day 2025.  \n\n\n\nStephen Lewin-Berlin is a long-time activist committed to community building and resisting injustice through nonviolent actions.  He is a local hub lead for LUCE–a Massachusetts-wide rapid response network that supports immigrants and opposes ICE activity throughout the state. \n\n\n\nParking:  Parking is available at First Parish in Wayland\, 225 Boston Post Road\, Wayland\, MA 01778.  If overflow parking is needed\, we recommend crossing Route 27 at the light and parking in the Town Hall parking lots across the street.
