See information about where parking is officially allowed and the risk of being towed in the District Ave Area on the What to Expect page of the Bearing Witness page. Note that no one has been towed since Jared and Laurie started protesting in April 2025. In order to be legally towned\, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266\, Section 120D specifies that in order for towing to occur you need to be warned by a sign or a person that parking is restricted. SUMMARY:Brockton Singing Resistance meeting and rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Minneapolis showed us the power of Singing Resistance\, catalyzing the formation of groups all around the country. A few of us in Brockton brought increased energy and joy to NO KINGS Brockton\, and we want to continue singing at protests. \n\n\n\nThe goal of Brockton Singing Resistance is to get other people singing to bring energy and unity to protests and other events. Outdoor singing is challenging\, so we prioritize enthusiasm and loudness over vocal skill — no music experience necessary. We succeed not by pleasing listeners\, but by getting others to sing! \n\n\n\nWe will sing first at Brockton Indivisible’s “Communities Not Cages” protest on Saturday\, April 25\, 1 – 2:30 PM. We may also sing at a May Day event outside of Brockton\, which we can decide at our meeting. \n\n\n\nTHE (BROCKTON) VENUE FOR OUR MEETING WILL BE DETERMINED WHEN WE KNOW HOW MANY WILL COME. IF YOU REGISTER WITH YOUR CELL NUMBER\, NEWS OF THE VENUE WILL BE SENT BY TEXT AS WELL AS EMAIL. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nIn the meantime\, here are two YouTube playlists. The first contains a variety of music that livened up NO KINGS Brockton\, while the second is the songs we sang when we gathered for that purpose — these are simple and repetitive so people can learn them on the fly. See how you like them! Bring a playlist or song ideas of your own to share at the meeting! \n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxDLY6nI0HgYyPT9I9I5200zL0Hx2Bb3G https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxDLY6nI0Hgatr-zLskxNVXgWKWxCL6Xx \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
