While most major banks have cut ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group\, Citizens Bank is deepening its financial support for these companies\, which are already holding more than half of the 70\,000 immigrants currently in ICE detention centers across the country. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe bank’s capital is supporting a deplorable ICE agenda that aims to fill detention centers with more than 100\,000 people by next year. Even as it publicly touts its commitment to “strengthening our communities\,” Citizens Bank has played a key role in helping The GEO Group and CoreCivic access more than $2.5 billion in financing\, some of it approved earlier this year. DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. This week features “An Introduction to Oppositional Federalism”  with guest speaker Brian White. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMembers\, supporters\, and the politically curious can join to come together\, hear what we’re working on\, and have open discussion about what matters most\, locally\, and nationally. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHosted by members of our Advisory Board\, each meeting includes: \n\n\n\n✅ Updates on current campaigns and priorities. \n\n\n\n✅ Space to ask questions\, offer feedback\, or raise new ideas. \n\n\n\n✅ Opportunities to connect with others in the movement. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re deeply involved or just looking for a way to stay informed\, you’re welcome here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
