SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime to Re-Stock\n\n\n\nComfort Cart Running Low on Food Staples \n\n\n\nNow that it is a 5-day/week operation\, the Comfort Cart can run low on food quickly. Please consider bringing a bag of food or donating cash using the Venmo QR below. \n\n\n\nYour generosity is always appreciated. Thank you! \n\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. \n\n\n\n\n\nBefore arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:Sign Brigade
DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible Maynard Area event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe meet the last Thursday each month from 5-6pm at the parking lot for Shaws Plaza in Stow and stretch out along Route 117 W between Red Acre Rd and the Citizens Bank. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you haven’t seen a Sign Brigade before\, we each hold a sign according to a theme that tells a story (ie- signs of good government). In order to allow cars to read each sign\, we each stand 100 ft apart. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeel free to join us or drive by and honk in solidarity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:No on 5 Phone Bank
DESCRIPTION:Backed by wealthy investors and CEOs\, the dark-money Massachusetts Opportunity Alliance (MOA) is backing Question 5: a reckless ballot initiative that would impose a strict ‘revenue cap’ on Massachusetts and slash funding for classrooms\, hospitals\, and first responders across the state. Question 5 would force repeated cuts to state and local public services; lead to layoffs for teachers\, nurses\, and firefighters; and make healthcare\, childcare and housing more expensive. It would give billions to the rich while the rest of us suffer from cuts\, and severely limit the state’s ability to recover from recessions. Wealthy investors put Question 5 on the ballot because they don’t need public services themselves. Don’t be fooled: vote NO on 5 to protect the programs that make Massachusetts families and communities strong. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to call voters and ensure they have a plan to Vote NO on question 5 in November!

SUMMARY:Call Michigan Voters with One Team Michigan
DESCRIPTION:Grab your computer and help elect Democrats up and down the ticket in Michigan. \n\n\n\nEvery shift\, volunteers like you call voters across the state to talk about Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate\, Jocelyn Benson for Governor\, Garlin Gilchrist for Secretary of State\, and Eli Savit for Attorney General. These are the conversations that win close races\, and they only happen if we make them. \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll need: A computer or tablet\, a quiet spot\, and headphones if you’ve got them. We’ll email you the link and everything else after you RSVP. \n\n\n\nWe phonebank nearly every day between now and Election Day\, so sign up for one shift or a dozen — whatever fits your week. Find a time below and we’ll see you online. \n\n\n\nNever done this before? \n\n\n\nThat’s the most common thing we hear. Every shift opens with a short training and you’ll get a script\, so you’ll know exactly what to say before your first call. An organizer stays on the whole time to answer questions. \n\n\n\n\nAlmost Every Day Through October- see times here and get zoom link
