SUMMARY:To Immigrants With Love | Valentine's Week of Action
DESCRIPTION:This Valentine’s Day week\, people across the country are coming together to show love and solidarity with immigrant communities—and to reject the violent\, intrusive\, and unlawful tactics being carried out by the Trump Department of Homeland Security (DHS)\, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). \n\n\n\nThis is a weekend of nonviolent action\, collective care\, and public accountability. Sign up to show your participation and to receive updates and resources. \n\n\n\nBelow are 4 simple ways to take part. Choose one or take on several. Every action matters. \n\n\n\n1) Share Love & Solidarity on Social Media Use your voice to help flood social media with messages of love\, dignity\, and solidarity for immigrants and their families. \n\n\n\nWhat to do: \n\n\n\n\nPost a message of love and solidarity for immigrant communities Share why you believe immigrants deserve safety\, dignity\, and due process\n\n\n\nLift up stories from your own community if you feel comfortable\n\n\n\n\nPlease use this To Immigrants With Love social media toolkit from FWD.us with sample language\, graphics\, and video templates. Social Toolkit: https://tinyurl.com/5kz75rbf \n\n\n\nWhy it matters: Public narrative shapes public action. When we show up together online\, we counter fear with humanity. \n\n\n\n2) Call on Congress: Demand Accountability from ICE and CBP Congress has the power—and the responsibility—to oversee DHS and stop abuses. \n\n\n\nWhat to do: \n\n\n\n\nCall or email your U.S. Senators and Representative\n\n\n\nDemand real accountability\, transparency\, and consequences for ICE and CBP abuses\n\n\n\nOppose any new funding for ICE or CBP without enforceable oversight and accountability\n\n\n\n\nCall the Capitol switchboard and ask to be connected with your members of Congress: (202) 224-3121 \n\n\n\nYou can also use these quick and simple email tools to send your members of Congress a message right now! \n\n\n\n\nPublic Citizen tool: https://act.citizen.org/page/93402/action/1?locale=en-US\n\n\n\nStand Up America tool: https://act.standupamerica.com/letters/letter-no-ice-funding/\n\n\n\n\n3) Plug into Ongoing Immigrant Rights Actions here on Turn Purple 2 Blue! \n\n\n\nHere are a few more great groups doing important ongoing work! \n\n\n\nNational Daylaborer Organizing Network (NDLON) – Adopt a Corner https://ndlon.org/adopt-a-day-labor-corner/ \n\n\n\nDetention Watch Network – Communities Not Cages https://www.detentionwatchnetwork.org/take-action/communitiesnotcages \n\n\n\nUnited We Dream – Deportation Defense https://unitedwedream.org/our-work/deportation-defense/ \n\n\n\nThe Workers Circle – Freedom Vigils http://freedomvigils.org \n\n\n\nNational Coalition to End Family and Child Detention – Paper Dolls to Free Families: https://tinyurl.com/4w255wpu – Free Families Vigils: https://freefamilies.net/ \n\n\n\n4) Commit to Showing Up for Immigrants in Your Community Solidarity doesn’t stop at policy—it lives in our neighborhoods. \n\n\n\nWhat this can look like: \n\n\n\n\nSupport an immigrant-owned business by donating or buying from them (in MN\, local immigrant owned business are struggling to survive\, and many might not reopen after the occupation)\n\n\n\nConnect through schools and parents associations to provide support to immigrant families\n\n\n\nIf you are a religious person\, ask your pastor to preach from the pulpit and/or connect through a congregation to provide support to families in need\n\n\n\nConnect with local mutual aid networks to provide rides\, translation\, and other kinds of support\n\n\n\nHire a day laborer! Providing a day of work with fair pay is an act of solidarity!\n\n\n\nBake cookies or share a meal with an immigrant family nearby\n\n\n\nSimply check in on neighbors who may be feeling afraid or targeted\n\n\n\nMake it personal: Choose one concrete act of care you can do this weekend—and commit to it.\n\n\n\n\nOur Shared Commitment \n\n\n\nThis weekend is about more than protest. It’s about choosing love over fear\, community over cruelty\, and accountability over abuse of power. No matter how you participate\, thank you for showing up with compassion\, courage\, and solidarity.

SUMMARY:Stand with Etel & Ashley at Worcester District Court
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, February 10\, community members are invited to show up in quiet solidarity for Etel Haxhiaj and Ashley Spring as they face a jury trial in Worcester District Court. \n\n\n\nThis is not a protest. It is a coordinated\, respectful courtroom presence\, a visible reminder that the community is paying attention\, values due process\, and rejects the criminalization of people who acted to protect their neighbors. \n\n\n\n\nSign up for a shift here\n\n\n\n\nOur goal is simple: keep the courtroom seats filled throughout the day with calm\, respectful observers. \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect: This is an inside-the-courtroom presence. Attendees will go through courthouse security and sit silently in Room 23. No signs\, chanting\, or demonstrations are permitted. Timing may shift\, so we are organizing coverage in blocks. \n\n\n\nImportant Courtroom Rules: No signs\, slogans\, political clothing\, clapping\, or verbal reactions. No phones or recording of any kind inside the courthouse or courtroom. Failure to follow decorum rules may negatively impact the case

SUMMARY:Restoring the Promise: A Discussion about Immigration Policy and the Path Forward
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Restoring the Promise\, a community-based discussion led by Antonio Massa Viana\, Massachusetts immigration attorney and founder of Massa Viana Law. An immigrant himself\, Antonio arrived in the U.S. at age 12 and later became the first known undocumented attorney admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. His personal journey through the immigration system fuels his dedication to advocacy grounded in empathy\, justice\, and a vision for a fairer future. \n\n\n\nThis nonpartisan program invites participants to reflect on the impact of current immigration policies\, the ways immigration has shaped our nation\, and the constitutional questions that affect both non-citizens and U.S. citizens alike. Grounded in shared ideals — fairness\, accountability\, and the belief that our nation’s strength rests on how we treat every person under its protection — Restoring the Promise creates space for meaningful dialogue and collective problem-solving. \n\n\n\n\nSpace is limited – reserve yours now!\n\n\n\n\nThrough real-life stories\, legal insights\, and historical analysis\, Antonio will guide participants in exploring: \n\n\n\n– What the Constitution guarantees in terms of rights and legal protections and how those guarantees are applied today \n\n\n\n– Why our immigration system is ineffective and in need of reform \n\n\n\n– What history tells us about immigration in America \n\n\n\n– Common myths about immigration versus the reality \n\n\n\n– How immigration abuses open the door to broader civil rights violations \n\n\n\n– A vision for moving forward\, balancing national interests\, compassion\, and the rule of law \n\n\n\nThis is not only an opportunity to listen and learn\, but also a chance to explore solutions to today’s immigration challenges and to ask a vital question: What kind of future do we want to build together as a country? \n\n\n\nLearn more at massavianalaw.com!

SUMMARY:MCAN Faith Leader Advocacy Day-ALL WELCOME
DESCRIPTION:Massachusetts Community Action Network (MCAN) is inviting everyone with URGENCY\, CLARITY AND HOPE into the next phase of our collective advocacy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are showing up holding two truths at once. We acknowledge that the Governor has taken action because our communities spoke out. We’re grateful for the steps she took. At the same time\, we must be clear that what has been offered is not enough to fully protect our people. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP and more info here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Thursday\, we are showing up to ensure elected officials understand: \n\n\n\nWe will not be confused by half measures. We will not be worn out by slow progress. We will continue to show up and fight for our communities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us from 10:00–11:00 at the Paulist Center to focus on grounding\, spiritual and moral alignment\, and clarity about our asks and messaging. Many new people are joining this effort\, and we want to create the conditions for everyone to fully understand what we are doing and why. \n\n\n\nAt 11 am we will head to the State House to the Governor’s office as well as the office’s of other elected officials.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease read the full description of MCAN’s communications with Governor Healey on the MCAN Website
