DESCRIPTION:Tree Webinar with Dr. William Moomaw on the irreplaceable value of mature trees and the threat posed by the proposed private jet hangar expansion at Hanscom Field.  \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nDr. Moomaw was a lead author for five IPCC reports\, including one that received the Nobel Peace Prize.  Dr. Moomaw has been a lead author of five major Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports. As a Science Fellow\, he worked in the U.S. Senate on energy and forestry legislation and on legislation that eliminated American use of CFCs in spray cans to protect the ozone layer. He was the first director of the climate program at the World Resources Institute in 1988 He has been elected an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow. Dr. Moomaw was also founding director of the Tufts Institute of the Environment\, Tufts Climate Initiative\, and co-founder of the Global Development and Environment Institute. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our ‘Block by Block’ Training & Action Series—a hands-on program designed to help you launch and lead a team for 2026 national campaign! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlock by Block is SURJ’s 2026 national campaign to elect champions for working people\, block MAGA\, and fight for the future we deserve. We do this through three strategies: Mobilize through mass action\, Elect working class champions\, and Grow a strong\, active base. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis online training series is designed to train and support new groups\, circles and chapters to run Block by Block: Solidarity Rising in your communities for the rest of the year. Groups will deepen organizing skills\, align with national strategy\, and be ready to take action locally. We’ll meet every other week online for training. On the off weeks\, your group will gather locally to practice skills\, grow your base\, and take action. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training series will consist of three modules\, each focused on one part of our strategy: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrow Module — March 4 & 18\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how to bring new people into your group\, plug them into meaningful roles\, build strong and accountable teams\, and develop leaders who can carry the work forward.
