DESCRIPTION:In the morning\, participants will hear from powerful speakers who will share their lived experiences and insights on key budget and bill priorities related to housing\, homelessness prevention\, cash assistance\, and safety net benefits. In the afternoon\, participants will meet with legislators and staff members to advocate for investments and policy changes to ensure everyone in Massachusetts has a safe and permanent place to call home. \n\n\n\n\nSee website for updates\n\n\n\n\nRegistration will begin at 9:30 a.m.\, and the formal agenda will run 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. In the afternoon\, participants will meet with legislative offices. DESCRIPTION:Please join Common Start at the Massachusetts State House on March 5th to advocate directly to House Representatives about the House FY27 budget proposal\, and to ensure that the Common Start priorities are reflected in the FY27 budget proposal that gets released in April. \n\n\n\nImportant events like this allow us to talk in-person with legislators and legislative staff about our FY27 budget priorities\, including increasing the number of families receiving child care financial assistance\, growing funding for the C3 operational grant program to support additional child care providers\, moving Massachusetts further toward child care reimbursement rates that cover the true cost of delivering high-quality care\, and delivering much-needed funding for Head Start providers. \n\n\n\nIf you are new to advocacy days or advocating directly at the State House – no worries!
