SUMMARY:Training: Protest Safety 101/Marshal Training
DESCRIPTION:Protests\, rallies\, and marches are important tactics to fight back against the Trump Administration. Volunteer marshals help ensure the intended message is delivered by keeping the event safe. Marshals may direct traffic\, de-escalate conflict if there are counter protesters\, and support the success of the action. There is a significant need for more marshals\, and also for protesters understanding protest safety. There are a range of roles for volunteers who complete the training. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin this virtual 90 minute training by experienced marshal lead and trainer Elaine Almquist. The training will cover: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning objectives: Our commitment to non-violence\, the purpose of marshaling\, planning for safety\, how marshaling differs from other protest roles\, marshal positioning\, de-escalation\, and de-briefing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
