SUMMARY:Truth Brigade Training
DESCRIPTION:Professional mediator Vanessa Linsey headlines Indivisible Winchester’s speaker series with a lively\, interactive communication workshop. In this 90-minute session inspired by Indivisible’s “Truth Brigade\,” attendees will learn positive approaches to political conversation at a time of unprecedented polarization and disinformation. \n\n\n\nAttendees will understand how to recognize disinformation\, when to engage (and when NOT to)\, and what they can do to change the dynamic through truthful\, firm\, and friendly conversation tactics. Attendees may role-play de-escalation\, practice finding common ground\, focus on fact sharing\, experiment with “stop and think” questions\, and try drafting social media comments. Staying composed during rapid response moments is easier said than done\, and this hands-on session will prepare attendees to communicate effectively and positively. \n\n\n\nAbout the presenter: Vanessa is a Cornell-trained family mediator who has logged many thousands of hours facilitating interpersonal conflict. Her engaging communication workshops feature mindfulness-based approaches to mutual understanding. Vanessa is a mother of several and author of a prescriptive memoir on mindfulness. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP and Confirmation Required\n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP if you plan to attend\, and cancel your RSVP if your plans change. Since this is an interactive workshop\, we need to be sure that we are not under or over subscribed. Confirmations will be required before the event. We really appreciate your understanding. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility

SUMMARY:Origami in Action: Birds of Peace & Compassion - at the BitBar Monthly Hangout
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue to learn the basics of origami\, and explore various types of birds\, at the BitBar!. We will discuss using our newly learned in skills in creating origami as a protest art. You are welcome to come\, relax\, and join us in simply creating origami. \n\n\n\nOr\, you have the option to join us in the following action…. \n\n\n\nWe hope to create as many origami birds as possible. Long considered a symbol of peace and hope\, we plan to come together and deliver them to the nearest ice detention center on President’s Day\, February 16\, 2026. \n\n\n\nPerhaps we’ll gather them in a garland to hang on a fence or from a tree. It won’t matter if there is one bird or an entire flock—the symbolism is the same: In these times of chaos and lack of empathy\, where hatred is made acceptable\, we will stand together for peace. We will stand for the love of one another. We will recognize the inherent worth of all of us\, no matter from where we come. We will reaffirm that all people deserve to be treated with respect\, justice\, equity and compassion. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nWe welcome you to join us. \n\n\n\nThe BitBar is a local\, welcoming establishment\, known for its eclectic menu\, and vintage pinball and video games. \n\n\n\nFeel free to contact us with any questions you might have\, at salemscall@yahoo.com. \n\n\n\nThis is a free workshop. Donations appreciated\, but certainly not required. This a local Indivisible event! \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Origami in Action: Birds of Peace & Compassion
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue to learn the basics of origami\, and explore various types of birds. \n\n\n\nWe welcome you to join us. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info and Register for Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nFeel free to contact us with any questions you might have\, at salemscall@yahoo.com. \n\n\n\nThis is a free workshop. Donations appreciated\, but certainly not required. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
