SUMMARY:Preach Day of Action Training
DESCRIPTION:Today we are witnessing a “Jim-Crow” era effort to restrict our voting power. The late Congressman John Lewis famously stated\, “ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call ‘Good Trouble\,’ Necessary Trouble.” \n\n\n\nWe are asking the faith community to hold a “Good Trouble Service” on your faith institution’s day of worship during the GTLO Weekend of Action. \n\n\n\nJoin us on July 8\, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET as we discuss the Preach Pillar’s involvement in this year’s GTLO. If you are able to stand in faith with us or would like more information\, please register to join us on July 8\, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re a religious leader or a person of faith\, we need you\, nay\, our democracy needs YOU! \n\n\n\nPlease join us for a call with faith leaders to discuss how we can engage in the moral work of supporting and exercising our sacred right to vote. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. We require that participants commit to not advocate for\, endorse\, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative. A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.

SUMMARY:Standout to SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS - No Fear Street Theater
DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held rain or shine & only cancel for large storms or high winds. We recommend dressing comfortably for the weather and bring a water bottle. Bring your sign in support of Immigrants or you are most welcome to use one of the ones we have on hand.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a creative\, participatory protest. If you support immigrants and their constitutional rights\, join us! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.nofearstreettheater.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584725253124\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPARKING\, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & other INFO: This is an outdoor event held at our standout area at the CORNER of MALL ROAD & DISTRICT AVE. The sidewalk area has a paved area and also a grassy area with trees in the background. There is some PARKING about 2 blocks away. Please NOTE: parking that is closer to the standout is private parking & reserved for staff and customers of the businesses and shopping center. ( Some cars have been towed from the private parking\, so we recommend that people chose other options.) Parking info. for the recommended parking areas will be sent to registrants. Public transportation is also available through the MBTA 350 route\, LexExpress & LRTA all of which have stops within 1 block of our standout area.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Latest Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis a local INDIVISIBLE event! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Restoring the Promise: Immigration Policy and a Path Forward
DESCRIPTION:Restoring the Promise: A Conversation with Attorney Antonio M. Viana\n\n\n\nWant to better understand the inner-workings of the immigration process in Massachusetts? Want to be a more informed advocate for all members of your community\, regardless of citizenship status? Join us for a conversation about immigration policy and the path forward.  \n\n\n\nAntonio M. Viana\, Managing Attorney and founder of Massa Viana Immigration Law\, has been a tireless advocate for immigration justice and civil rights over the course of his career. We are so excited to have him at the library for a conversation about his path to becoming a lawyer\, the passion behind his work\, and how we can all be a part of fighting for immigrants’ rights\, dignity\, and safety.   \n\n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\n\nAbout Antonio M. Viana:  \n\n\n\n“Antonio is passionate about immigration law\, civil rights\, and constitutional issues\, as well as about the clients he represents. He founded Massa Viana Law with the goal of creating a firm guided by the principles of excellency in advocacy\, mutual respect\, and most importantly\, of service. \n\n\n\nAn immigrant himself who first moved to the United States when he was 12 years old\, Antonio tackled the immigration system first in his own personal life. He discovered that many times\, in order to succeed\, you need to push the envelope and not give up\, despite the odds. That vision is employed daily in his firm\, where attorneys and staff are encouraged to seek creative legal solutions for difficult problems\, even when the answers are not readily apparent. \n\n\n\nThis never-give-up attitude allowed Antonio to become the first known undocumented immigrant attorney in Massachusetts. He attended Roger Williams University School of Law\, where he was the first Latino Editor-in-Chief of the RWU Law Review\, as well as winner of the Esther Clark and National Religious Freedom moot court competitions; he sat for the bar exam in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Rhode Island would postpone his bar admission until he became a legal resident\, but Massachusetts swore him despite his lack of legal status. Antonio started practicing immediately in immigration removal defense. \n\n\n\nAntonio\, together with his team\, have helped hundreds of people—from those seeking refuge within our borders\, to victims of violence and crimes\, to those looking to once again be reunited with their loved ones—achieve their dreams of legal residency and citizenship.”

SUMMARY:Justice for Lorenzo: Day of Action & Accountability Movement Call
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, July 7\, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston\, Texas. Lorenzo was not under investigation. He was not a suspect. Justice for Lorenzo means justice for everyone living under the threat of unchecked immigration enforcement violence in our country. \n\n\n\nCome to this call to learn more about how you can join the movement to honor Lorenzo’s life and demand justice.

SUMMARY:Faith on the Front Lines: Faith Organizing Call
DESCRIPTION:Join Indivisible\, Interfaith Alliance\, Interfaith Immigration Coalition\, Church World Service\, and others to discuss how faith leaders can play a critical role in movements against unjust immigration enforcement and detention centers in our communities. You’ll hear first-hand from faith leaders who are already on the front lines\, supporting our immigrant neighbors and opposing cruel and inhumane immigration policies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll learn how to engage with local faith communities– and push our leaders\, if necessary –- to ensure that we all show moral courage and stand up for the immigrant families in our communities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis call is for people of conscience and all faith communities and for faith leaders who are looking for ways to take action to stop detention. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Ground Truth Canvass Training
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for signing up for a Ground Truth canvass! Together\, we can transform how we talk with voters\, rebuild trust\, and swing the most competitive races for Democrats. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an in-depth training before you hit the doors\, where we’ll go over:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe strategy behind the Ground Truth program\n\n\n\nWho we’ll be talking to\, and what we’ll be saying\n\n\n\nTips for effective conversations using our empathetic listening script\n\n\n\nHow to use the canvassing app\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for a training anytime before the canvass you’re attending. The closer you can join to when your actual canvass is\, the better\, since we’ll be making changes and improvements each week. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile this training is optional\, we highly recommend attending – this is a different kind of canvassing than most of us are used to\, using a brand new canvassing app. If you can’t make it to the training\, please reference the materials we send out in advance to make sure you’re up to speed before you arrive at the canvass. Your canvass lead will have time for a short on-site training before you start knocking.
