DESCRIPTION:If you are looking to assist at a protest event you are encouraged to take this training so that local organizations can build a reliable collective of trained marshals to call on. \n\n\n\nMarshaling is a form of organizing people for a safe\, nonviolent\, and enjoyable public event. This 2-hour training covers the job of marshaling for protest demonstrations—such as for an upcoming No Kings! rally or for any march\, sidewalk standout with signs\, or sit-in. In addition to promoting common street safety\, the training will present and demonstrate essential skills to de-escalate interactions with agitated protesters\, the police\, and counter-protesters. These skills are valuable\, not just for marshaling\, but for any activist who participates in demonstrations. \n\n\n\nAbout the trainer: Rebecca Riccio\, founding director of the Social Impact Lab at Northeastern University’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities\, has trained and led marshal teams at many events including the 2019 Boston Climate Strike and the 2025 Hands Off! protest in Boston. \n\n\n\n\nSign Up

DESCRIPTION:Protests\, rallies\, and marches are important tactics to fight back against the Trump Administration. Volunteer peacekeepers help ensure the intended message is delivered by keeping the event safe. Peacekeepers may direct traffic\, de-escalate conflict if there are counter protesters\, and support the success of the action. There is a significant need for more peacekeepers. There are a range of roles for volunteers who complete the training. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin this virtual one hour training by experienced peacekeeper Elaine Almquist. DESCRIPTION:We need people like you to tell your stories to legislators and urge them to support resources for unhoused and low-income families. If you have any questions\, please contact Jason Lee at jasonl@saveourhomes.org. \n\n\n\nCookie Day is an annual advocacy event where low-income tenants\, families\, providers\, elected officials\, and community members unite to expand and deepen the impact of the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program. The event earned its name from the tradition\, started by Homes for Families\, of families and advocates handing out house-shaped cookies to elected officials as a reminder to support MRVP. \n\n\n\n9:30AM – Doors open in the Hall of Flags and attendees will have a chance to sign in and grab some breakfast. \n\n\n\n10:00AM – Advocates\, community members\, and legislators will meet at the Hall of Flags to hear personal stories of using MRVP and from leading legislators in affordable housing.  \n\n\n\n12:00PM – Following the speaking portion\, people will head out to legislative meetings and to hand out cookies.
