This training is for all of us who want to stand in solidarity\, especially those prepared to organize\, respond\, and show up with commitment and care. Join us for Solidarity Mobilizations\, a powerful two-part training series hosted by National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and Solidarity Organizing Initiative (SOI). We’ll break down the political moment we’re in\, the authoritarian playbook driving these attacks\, and share key concepts and tools to empower each of us to play the role we are called to in pushing back effectively and strategically. But there are ways we can fight back and protect our movement. \n\n\n\nWays to Be a Scambuster: \n\n\n\n\nReport misleading solicitations to Act Blue. Act Blue has recently adopted new policies to help prevent fundraising spam and scam operations from using their platform. You can report questionable fundraising appeals to Act Blue using this How-to-Doc.\n\n\n\nForward your spam text screenshots to the phone number 7726. That lets your phone service provider know that the text you are sending was spam.\n\n\n\nVolunteer to do research on Scam PACs. The crowd spilled out onto the common behind the meeting house and made a bonfire\, throwing the entire town’s supply of tea into it. \n\n\n\nEach year\, we reenact this occasion with a day of tea history! He led the organization as Executive Director from June\, 2021 through 2024\, growing annual revenue ten-fold and leading the development of state partner organizations through their first staff hires and local campaign wins. Informing that work going back to 2017\, Nathan played a leading role in founding and growing Voter Choice Massachusetts both as the regional lead for Central Massachusetts and through various statewide roles. He also served on the board of directors of the Voter Choice Education Fund. Prior to his involvement in election reform\, Nathan was an elected official in the Town of Lunenburg for 7 years\, where he and his wife raised their two children. His career in the software industry spanned 25 years and included engineering\, design\, and management roles. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue to learn the basics of origami\, and explore various types of birds\, at the BitBar!. We will discuss using our newly learned in skills in creating origami as a protest art. You are welcome to come\, relax\, and join us in simply creating origami. \n\n\n\nOr\, you have the option to join us in the following action…. \n\n\n\nWe hope to create as many origami birds as possible. Long considered a symbol of peace and hope\, we plan to come together and deliver them to the nearest ice detention center on President’s Day\, February 16\, 2026. \n\n\n\nPerhaps we’ll gather them in a garland to hang on a fence or from a tree. It won’t matter if there is one bird or an entire flock—the symbolism is the same: In these times of chaos and lack of empathy\, where hatred is made acceptable\, we will stand together for peace. We will stand for the love of one another. We will recognize the inherent worth of all of us\, no matter from where we come. SUMMARY:Veterans Winter Coat Drive
DESCRIPTION:The Democratic Town Committee of Marshfield is once again hosting a year-end Veterans Coat Drive on Saturday\, December 27\, at the public library. This will be the committee’s third year hosting\, and we hope to beat last year’s record of 1\,000 coats. The committee is looking for gently used and new winter coats for children\, women\, and men in all adult sizes. Hats\, gloves\, and scarves are always welcome contributions to this drive\, along with new underwear and socks. DESCRIPTION:One of the goals in creating MAMA Discord server was to help bridge the generational gap we are seeing with many activist groups right now\, particularly within Indivisible chapters. Toward that end\, we started a Discord Workshop\, in collaboration with Indivisible Acton Area chapter. \n\n\n\n\nGet Link!\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop is right after the weekly zoom check-in with the national organizers for Indivisible\, since it is particularly geared toward Indivisible members in MA chapters. Though of course everyone is welcome to join. \n\n\n\nWe’re going to spend the first 30min-1hr helping people to install Discord on their devices and showing them the ropes. How the servers work\, what kind of tools are available\, how to make posts and share things\, how to mute channels and manage the chatter\, and so on. We will also talk about other apps and tools people commonly use such as Signal and Slack. The next hour of the workshop will be optional and open-ended for asking questions and exploring the MAMA server.
