SUMMARY:Hands Off Our Vote
DESCRIPTION:Traditionally election protection programs have focused on key swing states where the risk is highest. But this year\, Trump is going for wholesale disenfranchisement across the country\, so we’re stepping up and launching our biggest program in Indivisible’s history. And even if the elections are secure where you live\, you can help protect at-risk voters in targeted areas during rapid-response moments and be a trusted messenger against the flood of disinformation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome join us for a short presentation reviewing Indivisible’s first Hand’s Off Our Vote call. We’ll go over the information and strategies they shared and discuss how we can support and protect a blue wave for the midterms. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible and coalition partner events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:JUSTICE INTERRUPTED: An Immigration Judge’s view of the Courts and the Path to Reform
DESCRIPTION:IMC Immigration Justice Action Team Virtual Forum\n\n\n\nWed\, Aug 12\, 2026\, 7 pm – 8:30 pm EST\, via Zoom \n\n\n\nJoin the IMC Immigration Justice Action Team (IJAT) for our monthly Virtual Public Forum. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month\, from 7 pm – 8:30 pm EST\, IJAT hosts a Virtual Public Forum. Our monthly forums highlight organizations\, campaigns\, and practical actions that help build a more just and welcoming Massachusetts. We hope you’ll join us for this important conversation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to hear an insider’s account of how political interference is reshaping the immigration courts—and what reforms are needed to restore judicial independence and due process.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJudge George D. Pappas is an immigration attorney (Boston\, MA & Asheville\, NC)\, former immigration judge\, and son of Greek immigrants. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBefore joining the bench\, Judge Pappas spent approximately 20 years representing people in asylum\, removal\, citizenship\, and other immigration matters\, while also providing pro bono legal assistance through refugee- and immigrant-serving organizations. He served in the Boston and Chelmsford Immigration Courts from 2023 until his termination in July 2025. Pappas has since sued the Department of Justice\, alleging that his termination was motivated by unlawful discrimination and by his longstanding associations with immigrant-rights organizations—claims the government has not yet had adjudicated against it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDrawing on his experience as both an advocate and a judge\, Pappas has become an outspoken critic of the immigration court system. He argues that because immigration courts are housed within the Department of Justice rather than an independent judiciary\, judges remain vulnerable to political pressure\, dismissal\, and directives that can undermine meaningful hearings and due-process protections. He has warned that the courts are increasingly being treated as instruments of deportation policy rather than independent forums for deciding individual cases\, and he advocates removing them from executive-branch control to create a genuinely independent immigration judiciary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImmigration Justice Action Team (IJAT)\, Indivisible Mass Coalition\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIndivisible Mass Coalition (IMC) is a statewide organization of volunteers\, is to provide resources\, support and services to the diverse Indivisible members and groups to strengthen constituent power in Massachusetts and improve democracy. Find more about what Indivisible Mass Coalition is doing by visiting indivisible-ma.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe IMC Immigration Justice Action Team serves as a statewide coordination and amplification hub within Indivisible Mass Coalition (IMC)\, supporting high-impact immigrant justice campaigns and actions that cross local group and coalition lines. We bring together Indivisible groups\, immigration justice organizations\, and the IMC Racial Justice Action Team to support and amplify efforts that protect our immigrant neighbors and communities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuestions?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact us at immigration-justice-action-team@indivisible-ma.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Link \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible and coalition partner events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Standout to SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS - No Fear Street Theater
DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held rain or shine & only cancel for large storms or high winds. We recommend dressing comfortably for the weather and bring a water bottle. Bring your sign in support of Immigrants or you are most welcome to use one of the ones we have on hand.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a creative\, participatory protest. If you support immigrants and their constitutional rights\, join us! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.nofearstreettheater.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584725253124\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPARKING\, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & other INFO: This is an outdoor event held at our standout area at the CORNER of MALL ROAD & DISTRICT AVE. The sidewalk area has a paved area and also a grassy area with trees in the background. There is some PARKING about 2 blocks away. Please NOTE: parking that is closer to the standout is private parking & reserved for staff and customers of the businesses and shopping center. ( Some cars have been towed from the private parking\, so we recommend that people chose other options.) Parking info. for the recommended parking areas will be sent to registrants. SUMMARY:GAIN August Membership Meeting: Speakers Mass Surveilance and "Democracy on the Ballot"
DESCRIPTION:Seems like everyone’s talking about FLOCK cameras. Learn more from some of our local experts. Here’s the backgrounds of our speakers for GAIN’s upcoming membership meeting. Don’t miss this important discussion. \n\n\n\nAllison Richardson “Exploring Mass Surveillance: what it is\, how it has been used\, and how it has affected our 4th amendment rights.” \n\n\n\nThis talk will address the concerns and issues around adopting AI driven mass surveillance technology. From automatic license plate readers\, to facial recognition video cameras\, to first responder drones\, our technology is rapidly increasing\, but what safeguards are in place to ensure it is used properly and that our rights to privacy are upheld? How has this technology currently been used and abused? What data does it collect\, how is that data stored and who can access it? We will wrap up with some actions we can take at a local level to try to put safeguards in place to ensure our 4th amendment rights are upheld. \n\n\n\nAllison Richardson is a member of the Steering Committee for Indivisible Maynard Area. In April she got connected to Mass50501’s Flock Off Campaign and learned that Mass50501 felt turning off surveillance may be the best way to disrupt ICE. She joined a coalition of folks from about 30 towns in MA including Framingham\, Tewksbury\, Salem\, Woburn and Waltham with groups including LUCE\, Billerica United\, North Shore Progressives\, Mass50501 along with a couple folks from ACLU of Massachusetts who are trying to turn off Flock Cameras in their towns\, push for state legislation to regulate mass surveillance systems and pass local by-laws to protect our communities and 4th amendment rights. \n\n\n\nSpeaker: John Griffin “Democracy on the Ballot” John Griffin is the Executive Director of Partners in Democracy MA Action. \n\n\n\nBefore coming to PID\, he spent a decade working in Massachusetts policy and politics\, including as Massachusetts Policy Director at Democrats for Education Reform. He has experience advising nonprofits\, campaigns\, and civil society organizations on achieving their policy goals in both Massachusetts and Washington\, D.C. John holds a Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School and speaks French\, Spanish\, Italian\, and Modern Greek. He lives in Walpole\, where he also grew up and graduated from Walpole High School.ights. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible and coalition partner events is a commitment to nonviolent action. SUMMARY:Monthly Training and Huddle-Maynard
DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible Maynard Area event. \n\n\n\nWe meet monthly from 6:30-8:30pm to get informed and to take action. Our next meeting is Feb 19. SUMMARY:Dismantling Detention | Immigrant Justice Summer Call # 4: How to Funnel Support for Immigrant Justice in Your Community
DESCRIPTION:When ICE comes to your community\, do you know what to do? This summer\, Indivisible is giving you a blueprint. Immigrant Justice Summer is a five-call national training series that will level up how you show up for immigrant justice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImmigrant Justice Summer Call # 4: How to Funnel Support for Immigrant Justice in Your Community\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen an ICE surge hits\, community support floods in from every dirWhen an ICE surge hits\, community support floods in from every direction. Without a system to direct it\, that energy scatters. This call trains you on how to build a link tree that functions as your community’s entry point into the immigrant-led response\, channeling new people\, information\, and training and mutual resources directly to where they’re needed on the ground. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn this one-hour national training call\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nLearn what the funnel model looks like in practice: how your group routes community support to the organizations leading the response without creating a parallel structure.\n\n\n\nGet trained on how to build a link tree that captures what people need to plug in\, including messaging guidance\, mutual aid resources\, direct support campaigns for people impacted\, and training opportunities for people who want to get involved.\n\n\n\nHear directly from a group leader who has used this model in a real surge scenario\, sharing what they put on their link tree\, how they vetted it\, and how they kept it current.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll leave with the knowledge and a concrete tool to set up your own link tree and put it in your community’s hands. This is the fourth call in the five-part Immigrant Justice Summer training series\, open to all Indivisible members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up for Link and Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Your canvass lead will have time for a short on-site training before you start knocking. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
