SUMMARY:Block by Block Training & Action Series | Virtual Training by SURJ
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our ‘Block by Block’ Training & Action Series—a hands-on program designed to help you launch and lead a team for 2026 national campaign! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlock by Block is SURJ’s 2026 national campaign to elect champions for working people\, block MAGA\, and fight for the future we deserve. We do this through three strategies: Mobilize through mass action\, Elect working class champions\, and Grow a strong\, active base. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis online training series is designed to train and support new groups\, circles and chapters to run Block by Block: Solidarity Rising in your communities for the rest of the year. Groups will deepen organizing skills\, align with national strategy\, and be ready to take action locally. We’ll meet every other week online for training. On the off weeks\, your group will gather locally to practice skills\, grow your base\, and take action. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training series will consist of three modules\, each focused on one part of our strategy: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrow Module — March 4 & 18\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how to bring new people into your group\, plug them into meaningful roles\, build strong and accountable teams\, and develop leaders who can carry the work forward. Growing our base is essential to winning—this is how we build the scale and discipline needed to carry out Block by Block for the rest of the year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMobilize Module — April 1\, 15 & 29\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet trained to organize coordinated\, strategic action using tools of mass noncooperation. Prepare to move quickly when our rights and democracy are threatened\, and build toward May Day: A Day Without Workers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElect Module — May 13\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn why governing power is a key part of our strategy and the role your circle\, chapter\, or group can play in supporting progressive candidates and blocking MAGA power. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy the end of this series\, your group will be ready to grow your base\, mobilize for action\, and take part in electoral strategy. We’ll provide all the structure\, toolkits\, and guidance you need to plug into our national program and make a real difference—block by block. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe encourage at least one member from every group\, circle\, or chapter to join\, but ideally more! Sign up for all the sessions—even if you can’t make them all\, we’ll send recordings so you won’t miss anything. And for more info on the Block by Block campaign\, check out the 1-pager. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for Details

SUMMARY:Callais Decision Update Rapid Response Call
DESCRIPTION:Join the No Kings Coalition as we break down the ins and outs of the Callais decision\, what this means for you\, and the future. You will hear from leaders from LDF\, ACLU\, and more. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nEffectively freed of the VRA’s barriers against racist gerrymandering\, GOP-led states could add as many as nineteen new Republican-leaning seats to the GOP House caucus in the coming years and hundreds of Republican seats at the state level — bringing conservatives closer to their dream of a permanent House majority. \n\n\n\nReclaiming our voting rights from Trump and the authoritarian systems working feverishly to strip us of what’s constitutionally ours will be neither easy nor quick. But on Thursday\, we’ll take our first step toward disrupting their plans\, together. Join us on the call\, and please spread the word to friends and family\, and on your social channels. \n\n\n\nFolks living in states where minority-majority districts are about to come under attack — Alabama\, Louisiana\, Florida\, Georgia\, Mississippi\, South Carolina\, and Tennessee — will face the immediate impacts of this ruling\, but Callais threatens voting everywhere. And recall that our multi-racial\, gender-inclusive\, one-person-one-vote democracy didn’t even truly exist until 1965 when the law that Roberts has dedicated his life to overturning was first passed. \n\n\n\nThe 14th Amendment gave Black men the right to citizenship and a pathway for them to vote in 1868\, and the 19th Amendment enfranchised Black women in 1920\, but Jim Crow laws prevented millions from actually casting a ballot — until 1965. Our true\, if unsteady\, democracy was then dealt a massive blow in 2013 when the Roberts Court began gutting the VRA with Shelby County v. Holder. Today’s ruling threatens to reverse what remained of those decades of progress.  \n\n\n\nWe can’t pretend that the situation isn’t dire. Callais likely comes too late to have a direct impact on the midterms\, but we expect GOP-led states to very quickly craft proposals to disenfranchise Black and Brown voters in time for 2027 state legislative elections and 2028 federal elections. We need our backlash to meet and exceed that intensity. \n\n\n\nWithout control of any branch of the federal government right now\, these fights will be carried out on the state level. Over the coming weeks\, months\, and years\, we’ll provide ways to tap into those fights\, from wherever you live\, by engaging directly and nonviolently or by supporting civil rights orgs leading the way.  \n\n\n\nA Supreme Court ruling is no small matter\, but we the people — in particular\, Black and Brown Americans — have opposed tyranny in the past. The road may be longer than we hoped\, but we will win. Again. \n\n\n\nIn solidarity\,Indivisible Team \n\n\n\nBy registering for this event\, you agree: (1) that Indivisible and ACLU can contact you about No Kings and other ways to take action or support their organizations and otherwise use any data collected from or about you on this form according to the applicable privacy policy: Indivisible Privacy Policy (https://indivisible.org/privacy-policy) and ACLU’s Privacy Statement (https://www.aclu.org/about/privacy/statement); and (2) subject to its privacy policy\, Indivisible may also share the information you provide to other No Kings partner organizations\, which may also contact you.

SUMMARY:Training: Protest Safety 101/Marshal Training
DESCRIPTION:Protests\, rallies\, and marches are important tactics to fight back against the Trump Administration. The training will cover: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning objectives: Our commitment to non-violence\, the purpose of marshaling\, planning for safety\, how marshaling differs from other protest roles\, marshal positioning\, de-escalation\, and de-briefing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. SUMMARY:From Exhaustion to Action: How Communities Sustain the work of Democracy

Drawing on nearly four decades of experience in community organizing\, peacebuilding\, and civic leadership — including work in grassroots organizing and municipal government — Brian will explore how communities have sustained themselves through times of crisis and built lasting power for change. He’ll share practical lessons and strategies about what keeps people connected\, motivated\, and effective when the stakes are high and the road is long. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is not a talk about what’s wrong — it’s about what we can do together\, and why it’s worth doing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Corr is a community organizer\, civic leader\, and facilitator with nearly four decades of experience building power for social change across Massachusetts and the country. A Cambridge-based Democratic State Committeeman and past chair of the Cambridge Democratic City Committee\, Brian has spent his career working at the intersection of government\, grassroots organizing\, and community resilience — helping people and institutions find their footing in difficult times and act effectively together. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom 2008 to 2025\, Brian served the City of Cambridge as head of both its civilian police oversight board and its Peace Commission.
