SUMMARY:All of Us 250: Mobilization Call
DESCRIPTION:This briefing is for progressive movement organization leaders\, grassroots organizers\, local\, state or national campaign groups\, and funders. Organizers with youth civil rights organization Get Free and activists with 50501\, one of the core groups behind the No Kings mobilizations\, have announced a national day of action called All of U.S. 250. Before the 250th Anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence and days after expected Supreme Court rulings on birthright citizenship and the Voting Rights Act\, Americans across the country will march and rally to repair our full history rather than erase it\, celebrate the progress we have made through struggle\, and commit to the work to ensure liberty and equality for All of U.S. America is at an unprecedented crossroads. At a time when our country should be coming together to celebrate all that we are\, how far we’ve come\, and commit to finishing the work to make America a place where freedom and equality are truly for all\, a white supremacist faction is pushing our country in the opposite direction. The MAGA regime is in the midst of trying to whitewash our past so they can whitewash our future. We can see this in their attempts to not just erase the history of enslavement and genocide\, but roll back hard-won civil rights victories. We refuse to comply. While they plan a whitewashed celebration of the 250th\, we’re inviting Americans of all stripes on June 27th to provide an affirmative\, positive counternarrative and demand equality over erasure. Anyone can sign up to host or join an event near them on our website \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\nAll of Us 250 website

SUMMARY:Force Multiplier: Let's Flip House Seats in Arizona\, Iowa and Nebraska
DESCRIPTION:Let’s Help Them Win in November! \n\n\n\nJoAnna Mendoza (AZ 06) is challenging a two-term incumbent who won by only 2.5% in ’24 in a district that Trump carried by a narrow 1-point margin. The race is rated a toss-up. Over JoAnna’s 20-years of military service in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps\, she deployed twice to Iraq\, once to Afghanistan\, and had the privilege of training the next generation of Marines as a Drill Instructor. \n\n\n\nSarah Trone Garriott (IA 03) is challenging a two-term incumbent who won by 4% in ’24. Her race is also rated a toss-up. Sarah is a minister\, a mom\, a nonprofit leader\, and an Iowa state senator who flipped two seats from red to blue\, then won a district that went to Trump in ‘24. She still preaches on the weekends. \n\n\n\nDenise Powell (NE 02) is running in an open seat in one of just three Republican-held seats won by Kamala Harris in ‘24. The district is among the most evenly divided in the nation with a slim D+0.8 margin. Denise\, a Latina\, is a former corporate executive\, small-business owner\, health-care advocate\, and public-school supporter. \n\n\n\nSuggested donation is $100. If you can give more\, please do. If not\, please give what you can and join us \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the monthly meeting of the Indivisible Westford Progressive Massachusetts chapter. This month: \n\n\n\nBridging the Political Divide: Tools for Constructive Conversations \n\n\n\nDemocracy runs on the open exchange of ideas\, but it’s not always easy. We can’t change minds overnight\, but with the right tools we CAN build greater understanding\, and earn the respect of people with a range of political views. \n\n\n\nCome and share your personal experiences on what works and what doesn’t and get some expert advice. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nWe’re thrilled to host Alix Smullin\, one of the founders of Swing Left North Shore/Cape Ann who has extensive experience with voter outreach. \n\n\n\nAlix has been talking politics for many years\, both professionally and as a volunteer. She’ll show us how it’s done\, with concrete examples and suggestions for having better conversations. She will also fill us in on Swing Blue’s Ground Truth program\, which is using some of these techniques to improve political outcomes.

SUMMARY:Rise Up\, Sing Out-Find One Near You
DESCRIPTION:Trump will be marking his birthday once again with made-for-tv spectacle. This time\, instead of emulating dictators with a military parade\, he’ll be playing Roman emperor with a cage match for his amusement at the White House. \n\n\n\nThe Committee for the First Amendment\, with enthusiastic support from the No Kings Coalition\, will be counterprogramming his little stunt with a nationally livestreamed concert featuring prominent activists and musicians.  \n\n\n\nBut ours won’t be mere spectacle. We’re inviting folks to host house parties around the country to build local power around anti-authoritarian defiance. Lots of Indivisible groups already have events planned\, but you don’t need to be a group leader to invite a few friends over and use our organizing toolkit to plan local actions.  \n\n\n\nAnd for those who tune in on their own\, we’ll be offering calls to action around voting\, election protection\, and defense of our First Amendment rights.  \n\n\n\n\nWatch from Home\n\n\n\nHost a Watch Party\n\n\n\n\nYou can find more info at the Rise Up and Sing Out website. \n\n\n\nNote: Many of these events are taking place in private homes. If you don’t see one near you\, reach out to your local Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\nActon/Littleton\n\n\n\n\n\nBillerica\n\n\n\n\n\nBoston/Roslindale/West Roxbury\n\n\n\n\n\nBrockton\n\n\n\n\n\nCanton\n\n\n\n\n\nEaston\n\n\n\n\n\nFairhaven\n\n\n\n\n\nHudson\n\n\n\n\n\nMelrose\n\n\n\n\n\nNewburyport\n\n\n\n\n\nNorfolk\n\n\n\n\n\nNorwood\n\n\n\n\n\nSalem\n\n\n\n\n\nWayland\n\n\n\n\n\nWellesley

SUMMARY:Gun Violence Prevention on the Ballot
DESCRIPTION:You’ve probably seen signature collectors out in force for the ten campaigns currently collecting to get questions on the November ballot. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBut what you need to remember is that there are *11* potential questions\, as one question is already guaranteed a spot on the ballot. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThat’s because the gun lobby in the state collected signatures for a referendum on MA’s 2024 gun safety omnibus bill. It’s critical to remember as well that you vote YES to keep the law. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBut what’s in the bill anyway? And why is this so important? Join us on Monday\, June 15\, at 7 pm to learn more about the Vote Yes for a Safe MA campaign and how to get involved. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
