SUMMARY:Justice for Lorenzo: Day of Action & Accountability Movement Call
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, July 7\, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston\, Texas. Lorenzo was not under investigation. He was not a suspect. He was a dad driving a work van with his crew when he was gunned down. Lorenzo was a worker in America – with a family\, with coworkers\, with a community – who was killed on his way to a job site by ICE deportation agents who are reckless and out of control. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the Justice for Lorenzo: Day of Action and Accountability Movement Call on July 15th at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT\, where we will gather in solidarity to hear from Lorenzo’s loved ones\, get updates about the case\, and learn how you can take action over the coming weeks to demand justice and accountability for Lorenzo and his family. \n\n\n\nOn the call we will provide tips and tactics to support you in taking actions that include a powerful visual symbol to lift up during the World Cup final (Lorenzo’s son was named Ronaldo after the soccer star) and vigils to be held across the country on or around July 25 in solidarity with community vigils taking place right now in Houston and across Texas. \n\n\n\nThe violence that took Lorenzo’s life cannot be hidden behind secrecy\, lies\, or impunity. Justice for Lorenzo means justice for everyone living under the threat of unchecked immigration enforcement violence in our country. \n\n\n\nCome to this call to learn more about how you can join the movement to honor Lorenzo’s life and demand justice.

SUMMARY:Indivisible Easthampton Action Gathering
DESCRIPTION:It’s been a year since Indivisible Easthampton was started! We’re excited about what we’ve accomplished together – contacting our legislators about important issues\, protesting the ICE facility in Burlington and at Home Depot in Hadley\, bringing attention to Citizens Bank through the DE-ICE campaign\, sending postcards to voters about elections in key states\, supporting veterans and federal workers\, and bringing the community together to protest unjust policies and actions by the current regime. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe know that we’re facing even more challenges as we get closer to the mid-term elections. We want to be ready as best we can. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSome of you took the time to complete our recent survey\, and to share your ideas and concerns. Thank you! A core group of our members met recently to review and discuss the results\, and to develop a focus for the year based on YOUR input. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s meet to celebrate what we’ve done and to move forward with our focus for the coming year. We’ll break out into groups to learn\, brainstorm\, and plan for action. Together\, we’ll appreciate each other\, our impact\, and the opportunities we face\, with light refreshments\, connection\, and community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Standout to SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS - No Fear Street Theater
DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held rain or shine & only cancel for large storms or high winds. We recommend dressing comfortably for the weather and bring a water bottle. Bring your sign in support of Immigrants or you are most welcome to use one of the ones we have on hand.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a creative\, participatory protest. If you support immigrants and their constitutional rights\, join us! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.nofearstreettheater.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584725253124\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPARKING\, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & other INFO: This is an outdoor event held at our standout area at the CORNER of MALL ROAD & DISTRICT AVE. The sidewalk area has a paved area and also a grassy area with trees in the background. There is some PARKING about 2 blocks away. Please NOTE: parking that is closer to the standout is private parking & reserved for staff and customers of the businesses and shopping center. ( Some cars have been towed from the private parking\, so we recommend that people chose other options.) Parking info. for the recommended parking areas will be sent to registrants. Public transportation is also available through the MBTA 350 route\, LexExpress & LRTA all of which have stops within 1 block of our standout area.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Latest Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis a local INDIVISIBLE event! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Dismantling Detention | Immigrant Justice Summer Call #2: How to Connect with Immigrant Justice Orgs in Your Community
DESCRIPTION:When ICE comes to your community\, do you know what to do? This summer\, Indivisible is giving you a blueprint. Immigrant Justice Summer is a five-call national training series that will level up how you show up for immigrant justice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImmigrant Justice Summer Call #2: How to Connect with Immigrant Justice Orgs in Your Community\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe strength of any response to ICE enforcement depends on the relationships that exist before a surge hits. This call trains you on community ecosystem mapping\, a structured tool for identifying who is already organizing immigrant defense work in your community\, what they are working on\, and where the gaps are in your local organizing ecosystem. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn this one-hour national training call\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nLearn why following the lead of impacted communities is the foundation of an effective response\, and get an honest look at some of the challenges of strategic allyship.\n\n\n\nGet trained on community ecosystem mapping\, including the specific questions to ask about the organizations\, communication channels\, and community champions already active in your community.\n\n\n\nHear directly from local Indivisible group leaders about what ecosystem mapping unlocked for their ability to mount a safe\, effective\, nonviolent community response in alignment with the immigrant-led organizations in their community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll leave with the knowledge and framework to develop a concrete picture of the organizing ecosystem in your own community. This is the second call in the five-part Immigrant Justice Summer training series\, open to all Indivisible members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up for Link and Details\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
