The event earned its name from the tradition\, started by Homes for Families\, of families and advocates handing out house-shaped cookies to elected officials as a reminder to support MRVP. \n\n\n\n9:30AM – Doors open in the Hall of Flags and attendees will have a chance to sign in and grab some breakfast. \n\n\n\n10:00AM – Advocates\, community members\, and legislators will meet at the Hall of Flags to hear personal stories of using MRVP and from leading legislators in affordable housing.  \n\n\n\n12:00PM – Following the speaking portion\, people will head out to legislative meetings and to hand out cookies. DESCRIPTION:Protests\, rallies\, and marches are important tactics to fight back against the Trump Administration. Volunteer peacekeepers help ensure the intended message is delivered by keeping the event safe. Peacekeepers may direct traffic\, de-escalate conflict if there are counter protesters\, and support the success of the action. There is a significant need for more peacekeepers. DESCRIPTION:Massachusetts Community Action Network (MCAN) is inviting everyone with URGENCY\, CLARITY AND HOPE into the next phase of our collective advocacy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are showing up holding two truths at once.  We acknowledge that the Governor has taken action because our communities spoke out.  We’re grateful for the steps she took.  At the same time\, we must be clear that what has been offered is not enough to fully protect our people. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP and more info here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Thursday\, we are showing up to ensure elected officials understand:   \n\n\n\nWe will not be confused by half measures.We will not be worn out by slow progress.We will continue to show up and fight for our communities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us from 10:00–11:00 at the Paulist Center to focus on grounding\, spiritual and moral alignment\, and clarity about our asks and messaging.
