SUMMARY:Broadway Musical\, SUFFS\, Watch Party and Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Did you miss the musical SUFFS when it was in Boston this past spring? Did you see it\, want to see it again\, and discuss it with others? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA recording of the Original Broadway cast is streaming on PBS. We will watch the first Act together\, then talk about what we just saw. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuffs is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that chronicles the American women’s suffrage movement. The show follows the trailblazing activists — referred to as “suffs”—who fought tirelessly for the right to vote\, ultimately leading to the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for this social event that you will no doubt find has parallels to today’s activism. Program is free\, and pizza will be provided! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCo-hosted by IndivisibleWIN (Winchester\, MA)\, Network for Social Justice (Winchester\, MA)\, and Minutewomen for Democracy (Lexington\, MA). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Sign Making for No ICE in the Cup
DESCRIPTION:Come make signs for the visibility action later in the week. You don’t have to come to City Hall to make a statement. We’ll provide all the materials and you’ll make signs that convey the message that we welcome fans and players from all over the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo ICE in the Cup is a national call to action demanding the World Cup remain joyful\, safe and secure for all to enjoy. This means that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has no place near the World Cup festivities. We want ICE out of stadiums\, out of watch parties\, out of local businesses\, and off the streets where people will gather to celebrate the game they love. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe World Cup is coming to the United States. It should be a moment of joy and community around the beautiful game of soccer. But for many communities\, especially immigrants\, the presence of ICE threatens to turn that celebration into a moment of cruelty and fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSoccer belongs to the world. Our communities and international visitors deserve to experience it without the threat of government violence or intimidation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHelp make this demand clear: No ICE in the Cup.
