SUMMARY:Monthly Training and Huddle-Maynard
DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible Maynard Area event. \n\n\n\nWe meet monthly from 6:30-8:30pm to get informed and to take action. Our next meeting is Feb 19. We will be joined by Sen Jamie Eldridge for the first part. He will share actions that can happen on the state level and ways we can help get the legislation over the finish line. The second half of our meeting will be devoted to taking action: we will primarily be packing whistles for ourselves and to distribute to our neighbors. Please bring a small donation to help cover the cost of whistles and materials especially for those who can’t come. We will also be collecting canned and dried packaged food to donate to community members in need. \n\n\n\n\nSpace is limited\, please rsvp for exact address\n\n\n\n\nSpace is limited\, so RSVP is required. SUMMARY:Standout to SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS - No Fear Street Theater
DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held rain or shine & only cancel for large storms or high winds. We recommend dressing comfortably for the weather and bring a water bottle.
