SUMMARY:Standout for Democracy | Protest in Methuen
DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible event! Our standout is comprised of a group of seniors who decided to do more than watch the news\, become upset\, anxious\, and feel powerless about what is happening in and to our country. We began a peaceful protest action to register our displeasure! We wanted to demonstrate in a way that empowered us and allowed us to take back some control and voice our concerns. Our motto is “WE MARCHED THEN\, WE MARCH NOW.” Since we range in age from the 70s to 90s\, we try to standout on Fridays from 1pm to 2pm. We standout weather permitting so we would not standout in the rain or snow. We are looking forward to warmer weather. We are glad to be a part of Greater Methuen Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

DESCRIPTION:New\, shorter winter timeframe! This weekly afternoon standout is on Fridays from 1:30 to 2:30 at the Hanscom Rotary (intersection of Hanscom Dr. and Old Bedford Rd. in Lincoln\, MA.) Please park along Old Bedford Road or Hanscom Drive without impeding traffic or blocking bike lanes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDe-ICE Hanscom is a coalition organizing peaceful standouts with the goal of eliminating ICE transport flights from Hanscom Field. ICE is using these flights to swiftly move immigrants out of New England in order to hinder effective legal representation.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoalition groups include Boston Workers Circle\, Concord Indivisible\, Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN)\, Indivisible Acton Area\, Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action (JALSA)\, Lexington Alarm\, and Maynard Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up to get information and updates about our weekly standouts. DESCRIPTION:The LUCE Immigrant Justice Network has an “ICE Out of Massachusetts Courts” campaign to urge our state government to do everything in its power to stop its courts from being used as staging grounds for targeting and handing over community members to federal immigration officers.  \n\n\n\nAs part of this effort\, they are holding rallies at several MA court houses next week.
