DESCRIPTION:About the Vigil: \n\n\n\nWeek after week\, people are dying in ICE detention and in encounters with immigration enforcement. In March\, we mourned Emmanuel Cleeford Damas. In recent weeks\, we have mourned the killings of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastián Guerrero\, as well as another victim in Florida. Their names join a growing list of lives stolen by a system that continues to destroy lives. Families are disappearing into detention centers as entire communities are forced to live in fear. \n\n\n\nIn response to these devastating killings and the escalating ICE presence targeting our neighbors\, join the LUCE network and community organizations for a 24-hour vigil in front of the Massachusetts State House in Boston. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will honor the lives of those who have been killed\, support communities impacted by immigration enforcement\, and affirm our collective power to grieve\, organize\, and demand justice. Please park along Old Bedford Road or Hanscom Drive without impeding traffic or blocking bike lanes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDe-ICE Hanscom is a coalition organizing peaceful standouts with the goal of eliminating ICE transport flights from Hanscom Field. ICE is using these flights to swiftly move immigrants out of New England in order to hinder effective legal representation.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoalition groups include Boston Workers Circle\, Concord Indivisible\, Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN)\, Indivisible Acton Area\, Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action (JALSA)\, Lexington Alarm\, and Maynard Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up to get information and updates about our weekly standouts.
