DESCRIPTION:Join the De-ICE Action Network–which is evolving from the De-ICE Citizens Bank campaign– to send a message to Boston Dynamics to not trust ICE with their Spot Robot Dogs.  \n\n\n\nOrganizers will have flyers to hand out; the goal is to encourage passersby to contact Boston Dynamics CEO to keep Spot out of ICE’s hands (contact links will be on flyers).  \n\n\n\nPlease bring signs specific to this action: Boston Dynamics: Do you trust ICE; Boston Dynamics–Don’t trust ICE with Spot; Keep Spot out of ICE’s Hands; Boston Dynamics: Stand by your principles; No Spot for ICE! \n\n\n\nDid you know? Waltham based Boston Dynamics plans to sign a $2 million contract for ICE to purchase Boston Dynamics’ Spot robotic dogs in support of ICE’s immigrant detention and deportation operations. \n\n\n\nThe issue: Boston Dynamics’ strict ethical principles state that its robot dogs must work “in service of human needs” and that government use of the four-legged devices must not involve “violation of privacy and civil right laws.” Yet ICE has repeatedly shown it is incapable of adhering to these principles as it detains and deports millions of immigrants while routinely violating their Constitutional rights. ICE has also resisted all efforts of accountability. Newly raised enforcement quotas\, coupled with less well vetted and trained agents\, further heightens potential abuses in using the robot dogs. \n\n\n\nBoston Museum of Science has a hugely popular Spot Robot Dog exhibit. We want to sound the alarm about this potential contract with ICE and encourage museum visitors and passersby to join us in calling on Boston Dynamics to keep Spot out of ICE hands. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all De-ICE Action Network events is a commitment to nonviolent action. DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. DESCRIPTION:Join members of three Brookline pro-democracy groups — indivisible Activist Evenings\, Brookline Pax\, and Speak Out\, Seniors! — for our weekly rally at Coolidge Corner. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe gather to raise our voices and our signs in defense of democracy\, justice\, and decency — and to stand united against the abuses of the Trump administration and the forces that threaten our rights and freedoms. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe stand for: \n\n\n\n• Immigrant rights\, human rights\, and racial justice \n\n\n\n• Free speech\, the Constitution\, and the rule of law \n\n\n\n• Access to health and healthcare for all \n\n\n\n• Protection of our planet and the future we leave to the next generation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe choose empathy over cruelty\, peace over violence\, and hope over fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur rallies are peaceful\, spirited\, and uplifting — a chance to connect\, recharge\, and stand up for what matters. Bring your friends\, your voice\, and your sign (or borrow one of ours!). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll are welcome!  The rally is multi-generational and family-friendly; those using walkers or other mobility devices may use them to sit to participate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the event of inclement weather\, we’ll each use our best judgment about whether to attend.
