Please try to leave the parking spots closest to the Commons’ businesses open for business patrons. For people with mobility challenges\, there is limited parking on Main Street on a first come\, first served basis. Here are some important ground rules. We cannot disrupt traffic. Please stay out of the street\, and always use crosswalks. This is a peaceful protest. If someone becomes aggressive towards one of us\, we should all be ready to de-escalate the situation (don’t respond to the aggressor\, walk away\, find a volunteer with a reflecting vest or a Westborough Police Officer). DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible and Billerica United Event! \nJoin us Saturday June 28th 11:00am-12:30pm on Billerica Common for our second annual standout since Roe v Wade was overturned by the Dobbs decision. \nBigger Than Dobbs II: Stop Trump’s and the GOP’s War on Women \nLast year\, Indivisibles warned the public about Project 2025 and that abortion is just the “tip of the iceberg” and Republicans are trying to “turn back the clock” with antiquated laws like the Comstock Act. \nThis year we are seeing the implementation of Project 2025’s regressive\, white\, Christian patriarchy which targets women. Indivisibles are sounding the alarm across Massachusetts about attacks on our rights and freedoms from voting to bodily autonomy. \nThe MAGA agenda has proven time and again to be antithetical to women’s progress\, cloaked in the guise of policy and patriotism but delivering a ruthless blow to the very foundation of women’s rights. From gutting our reproductive freedoms to mocking the pillars of justice for victims of assault\, the MAGA movement’s legacy is marred by its attempts to drag women’s rights back to a bygone era. \n*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. This is a critical moment to stand up for healthcare access\, which is under threat from Trump’s Big Awful Budget Bill and Project 2025. Join us on the 3rd anniversary of the Dobbs decision to stand up for healthcare access and reproductive freedom for all! \nIndivisible Waltham is partnering with the Indivisible MA Coalition’s Feminist Action Team on this event. We will be holding signs at the Waltham Common (Main and Moody streets) from 11am-12:30pm to reject the escalating attacks on reproductive healthcare\, data privacy (including sensitive reproductive health data) and civil liberties. Bring a sign focused on the theme of this event and we will also have extras to share. \n\n\n\nRSVP
