SUMMARY:Community Resilience\, Readiness and Resistance Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Building our capacity for resilience is an important component of the community organizing work we’re doing here in eastern Massachusetts. The current administration is going to be in power at least through January 2029. That is 38 more months. They have only been in power for 11 months so far\, which means that we are only about 20% of the way through this presidential term. Figuring out ways to stay engaged will be critical because we are all needed – particularly as we become more comfortable with being engaged in resistance activity and as we move into noncooperation activities. We can each find our own ways of making this work sustainable but it will take some openness to learning\, experimentation\, and practice. \n\n\n\nThis two-hour workshop by the Boston Trainers Collective (BTC) is designed to promote collective resilience and community safety. Participants will be taught a framework for cultivating readiness and resilience as a foundation for long-term resistance\, personal and collective care\, and preparedness for the wide range of other challenges that may lie ahead such as climate-related crises\, social unrest\, and economic volatility. Participants will leave with concrete steps that can be taken immediately to start building readiness and resilience as individuals\, organizations\, and communities. \n\n\n\nFounded by Rebecca Riccio\, the BTC is a group of volunteer activists and organizers associated with a variety of racial and social justice-oriented organizations in Greater Boston. \n\n\n\nBring a friend or two! It’s a great workshop\, even for those not involved in a movement. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nPlease contribute $10 via cash or Venmo when you arrive. This is to cover expenses – pizza\, refreshments and a small thank you gift for trainers\, etc. \n\n\n\nParking: there is a small (and regularly full) lot behind the library. Metered parking can be found along High Street and the perpendicular streets. There is also a public lot located one block away at 11 Governors Ave (Behind Colleen’s Ice Cream)

SUMMARY:Team ENOUGH Welcome Session (For Young People Under 26)
DESCRIPTION:Are you a young person between 13 and 25 years old who is interested in taking action around preventing gun violence? Join us for our Team ENOUGH welcome session to learn more about the different ways you can engage. \n\n\n\nTeam ENOUGH is a youth-led program whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. Supported by Brady United\, we harness the expertise and experience of today’s youth to advance our intersectional work across the country. \n\n\n\nLed by an Executive Council\, comprised of students just like us\, we believe that diversity is a strength\, and that only when everyone has a seat at the table can we build an effective movement to prevent all gun violence in all communities. \n\n\n\nFor us\, preventing gun violence not only requires regulating access to firearms but also addressing how systemic racism and environmental factors cause this form of bloodshed to run especially rampant in communities of color. You cannot talk about gun violence without talking about police brutality\, white supremacy\, the broken criminal justice system\, poverty\, homophobia\, access to affordable housing\, or the often barriers separating disadvantaged populations from physical and mental healthcare. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nSo if you share this belief\, join us for our Team ENOUGH welcome session and become part of the movement to end gun violence in our lifetime.

SUMMARY:Solidarity Mobilization 2 Part Training Series
DESCRIPTION:Across the country\, immigrant communities are under attack\, and authoritarian forces are gaining ground. But there’s a growing movement of people ready to take action with clarity\, courage\, and discipline. This training is for all of us who want to stand in solidarity\, especially those prepared to organize\, respond\, and show up with commitment and care. Join us for Solidarity Mobilizations\, a powerful two-part training series hosted by National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and Solidarity Organizing Initiative (SOI). We’ll break down the political moment we’re in\, the authoritarian playbook driving these attacks\, and share key concepts and tools to empower each of us to play the role we are called to in pushing back effectively and strategically. Each session will have live transcription and will be recorded. The recording will be sent out to everyone who registers within 48 hours after each session. In these two 75-minute sessions\, you will: Learn to recognize and anticipate “Moments of Crisis” — and why they’re central to the authoritarian strategy Understand how direct support and crisis response work together in immigrant justice organizing Get grounded in the principles of strategic noncooperation and how it builds people power Learn how to build on direct support for immigrant communities Get clear on the next steps you’re taking in your community \n\n\n\nWhether you’re brand new or have been in the fight for years\, this training will give you political clarity\, strategic tools\, and an invitation to deepen your solidarity within our movement. This is just the beginning. Let’s get ready together. \n\n\n\nLearn more about NDLON here: https://ndlon.org/ Learn more about SOI here: https://solidaritypledge.org/?source=NDLON

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm\, starting September 4. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:Solidarity in Action: Resilience for Sustainable Activism
DESCRIPTION:Many of us entered movement work out of urgency and many of us are exhausted by it. The Resilience Toolkit offers an embodied\, justice-aligned framework for sustaining activism over the long arc of the struggle. Rather than treating burnout\, reactivity and conflict as personal failures\, The Toolkit helps us understand them as predictable stress and trauma responses – and equips us with real-time regulation skills that expand our capacity to stay engaged without collapse or numbness. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we’ll explore: How stress and trauma shape movement behavior (withdrawal\, escalation\, fracture) and how embodied stabilization interrupts those patterns in real time \n\n\n\nEmbodied solidarity: how listening\, repair\, and collective care become possible only when the nervous system has enough bandwidth \n\n\n\nRest and joy as conditions of political strategy\, not rewards for after the work is done \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nPractical tools to increase steadiness and discernment into movement\, organizing\, and mutual aid work \n\n\n\nThis conversation connects the inner work of healing and reflection with the outer work of solidarity and action — helping us build movements that are both resilient and humane. \n\n\n\n“How we breathe\, listen\, rest\, and relate is political.” \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a longtime organizer\, new to activism\, or simply seeking to live your values more fully\, this session offers inspiration and embodied tools to help you put solidarity into action every day.

SUMMARY:De-ICE Hanscom Friday Standouts
DESCRIPTION:1:30 – 2:30 Shortened duration this week due to temperature forecast. This weekly afternoon standout is usually on Fridays at the Hanscom Rotary (intersection of Hanscom Dr. and Old Bedford Rd. in Lincoln\, MA.) Please park along Old Bedford Road or Hanscom Drive without impeding traffic or blocking bike lanes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDe-ICE Hanscom is a coalition organizing peaceful standouts with the goal of eliminating ICE transport flights from Hanscom Field. ICE is using these flights to swiftly move immigrants out of New England in order to hinder effective legal representation.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoalition groups include Boston Workers Circle\, Concord Indivisible\, Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN)\, Indivisible Acton Area\, Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action (JALSA)\, Lexington Alarm\, and Maynard Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up to get information and updates about our weekly standouts. We’ll keep you in the loop if we need to reschedule or cancel for weather or other considerations\, and apprise you of our goals and progress. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up to Get Updates

SUMMARY:Black Tie Protest
DESCRIPTION:Why: The owner of Cafe Escadrille also owns the ICE Prison/Field Office at 1000 District Ave. He has been silent on the abuses in his building\, and has not aided the Town’s efforts to inspect for zoning & safety violations. We’ll keep visiting his restaurant until he’s ready to face the conversation. \n\n\n\n\nFAQ\n\n\n\n\nParking: down the street in front of the Burlington Ice Palace (this is Town property where you will not be towed. Please do NOT park at the Cafe Escadrille!) \n\n\n\nNote: People often wear formal wear to this protest!
