Winner of the Outer Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Musical. \n\n\n\n“Like all of the best Broadway musicals\, Suffs humanizes\, empowers\, moves\, and entertains.” (Chicago Tribune)

SUMMARY:Postcard Party
DESCRIPTION:Send hand-written postcards to voters in states that will play a key role in taking back Congress and in electing leaders who will fight back against the current authoritarian regime. Postcards educate voters\, urge them to register to vote\, and urge them to vote for specific candidates in special elections\, primaries\, and the November 2026 mid-term elections. Hand-written postcards have been proven in multiple studies to boost turnout enough to swing elections. Each packet of 15 postcards has everything you need\, and costs $10 to cover stamps and cards for those who can afford it. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nIt’s more fun to write together\, but if you can’t stay\, you can also stop by and pick up postcards to write at home.

SUMMARY:Fix ICE!
DESCRIPTION:Come join us Monday and Tuesday 11-1 to protest ICE cruelties. \n\n\n\nWhere: Burlington\, MA: From 11–12 we hold signs on a busy street to communicate our message publicly\, and from 12–1 we gather outside the ICE office for a more informal time of signs\, speaking out\, connection\, and visible solidarity with immigrants while making our presence known to ICE.What to bring: A sign!Meeting point: Corner of Burlington Mall Road and District Ave\, closest to Pressed Cafe. After: Optionally join us for lunch at Pressed Cafe. \n\n\n\nParking near 1000 District Ave\, Burlington \n\n\n\nICE Jail\n\n\n\nFor a deep look at what happens inside ICE detention\, visit the full resource at https://bearingwitnessne.org/inside-ice \n\n\n\nInteractions\n\n\n\n\nImmigrants who are fortunate to leave the facility have shown gratitude for our presence and some share their stories with us.\n\n\n\nICE agents tend to cover their faces with masks\, many record us with their phones\, others give a satisfied smile or laugh\, they rarely say anything.\n\n\n\nThe security officers stationed at the front of the building have not hassled us.\n\n\n\nPassersby from nearby businesses often thank us for being there\, and many have shared that they never knew this was an ICE facility.\n\n\n\n\nParking for District Ave Protests\n\n\n\nThere is parking at busineses and on the street\, but there are risks. See information about where parking is officially allowed and the risk of being towed in the District Ave Area on the What to Expect page of the Bearing Witness page. Note that no one has been towed since Jared and Laurie started protesting in April 2025. In order to be legally towned\, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266\, Section 120D specifies that in order for towing to occur you need to be warned by a sign or a person that parking is restricted. In addition\, the owner of the property must get permission from the chief of police or designee and provide certain information.

SUMMARY:Burma Shave Standouts - Arlington
DESCRIPTION:The third No Kings protest is scheduled for March 28. Events are being planned throughout the U.S. and in many foreign countries to demand that Trump and the Republican-led Congress stop their unconstitutional power grab and the cruel destruction of our federal government. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo publicize the No Kings protests\, we plan to hold signs from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on three dates in March at high visibility locations in Arlington. Signs will be provided. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe signs are designed after the World War 2 era poem which begins “First they came for the Communists\, and I did not speak out….”  We will replace “Communists” with “immigrants”\, etc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are looking for people who are available to pick up a sign by 4:15 and hold it at a designated location for the full hour\, 4:30-5:30 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP for 1\, 2 or all 3 dates. The location for each standout and other important details will be sent closer to the date. You will be notified if the standout needs to be rescheduled or cancelled due to bad weather. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Bear Witness- Protest and Food Drive Wednesdays at ICE
DESCRIPTION:“We invite you to stand in solidarity outside the ICE Enforcement & Removal Operations Office in Burlington every Wednesday from 11am-1pm. We’re grateful to those who have previously joined us at this facility\, and we hope that more will consider attending. Together\, we can show love & support for immigrants\, express our shame at ICE\, and bear witness to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government.”Schedule11:00-11:30\, Welcome chat; orientation for new folks; sign-making for those who need them11:30-12:30\, Stand (or sit) with signs12:30-1:00\, Short walk along the sidewalk on District AveThe ICE building in Burlington is the detention and enforcement office for New England. Immigrants must come here for appointments. The standouts are peaceful and offer support for those who must show up here. Signs expressing support for immigrants are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs far as we know\, the Mall is continuing to restrict parking to mall shoppers only. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. That bus is free.\n\n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

SUMMARY:Training: Peacekeeping at Protests
DESCRIPTION:Protests\, rallies\, and marches are important tactics to fight back against the Trump Administration. There are a range of roles for volunteers who complete the training. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin this virtual one hour training by experienced peacekeeper Elaine Almquist. The training will cover: \n\n\n\nCommitment to non-violence\, the purpose of peacekeeping\, planning for safety\, peacekeeping positioning\, how peacekeeping differs from other roles\, de-escalation\, and debriefing.

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:Standout for Democracy | Protest in Methuen
DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible event! Our standout is comprised of a group of seniors who decided to do more than watch the news\, become upset\, anxious\, and feel powerless about what is happening in and to our country. We began a peaceful protest action to register our displeasure! We wanted to demonstrate in a way that empowered us and allowed us to take back some control and voice our concerns. Our motto is “WE MARCHED THEN\, WE MARCH NOW.” Since we range in age from the 70s to 90s\, we try to standout on Fridays from 1pm to 2pm. We standout weather permitting so we would not standout in the rain or snow. We are looking forward to warmer weather. We are glad to be a part of Greater Methuen Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:NO KINGS Massachusetts Protests
DESCRIPTION:FIND YOUR PROTEST HERE-MAP AND LIST. PROTESTS ADDED DAILY\, CHECK THE MAP IF YOU DON’T SEE YOURS. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe plan these protests to recruit new people into the movement and send a clear message to the regime: we are not cowed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs Trump promises to escalate his war on American cities\, we’re preparing for the largest protest against the regime yet. June’s No Kings deprived Trump of his birthday parade media splash. October’s No Kings steeled American resolve against Trump’s occupation of cities and deployment of secret police terrorizing American communities. Since then\, people have continued to rise up nonviolently against the Trump administration’s ongoing brutality and abuses of power\, including the latest escalation in Minnesota. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT NOTE: A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNATIONWIDE MAP\n\n\n\nMASSACHUSETTS MAP\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProtests added daily–check the map if you don’t see yours! \n\n\n\nEvents below listed alphabetically by city/town name. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAndover | 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBedford | 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBeverly | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoston | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoxford | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChelmsford | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFitchburg | 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFranklin (Bridge Brigade) | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGardner | 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGroton | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHarvard | 10:00 AM – 12 Noon\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHaverhill | 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHolliston | 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHudson | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLittleton | 10:00 AM- 12:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLowell | 12 Noon – 2:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMedway | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMendon | 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMiddleton | 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMillis | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMilton | 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNashoba | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorth Andover | 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorwood | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNewburyport | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNewton | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPepperell | 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSalem | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSharon | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSwampscott | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSwansea | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTownsend | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatertown | 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWestborough | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWestford | 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWinchester | 11:30-1:00\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorcester | 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorcester (Overpass) | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWrentham | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

SUMMARY:Democracy Standout
DESCRIPTION:Join Indivisible Waltham for bi-monthly standouts on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the Month. (Except this month: Feb 16 instead of Feb 14) Rally themes relate to preserving our democracy\, rejecting authoritarianism\, calling for accountability from our elected officials\, and an end to the lawlessness of the Trump administration\, in particular an end to ICE\, which has become a lawless paramilitary that is being used to wage economic\, psychological\, and physical war against communities in “blue states” and “blue cities” that Trump wants to punish or attempt to extort.
