In recent weeks\, we have mourned the killings of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastián Guerrero\, as well as another victim in Florida. Their names join a growing list of lives stolen by a system that continues to destroy lives. Families are disappearing into detention centers as entire communities are forced to live in fear. \n\n\n\nIn response to these devastating killings and the escalating ICE presence targeting our neighbors\, join the LUCE network and community organizations for a 24-hour vigil in front of the Massachusetts State House in Boston. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will honor the lives of those who have been killed\, support communities impacted by immigration enforcement\, and affirm our collective power to grieve\, organize\, and demand justice. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. Every Sunday from noon to 1:30pm we line the street around our Common and hold signs that are relevant to fighting for our Democracy. We sing songs and we do chants\, we are unified in our love for our country and we know it is important for us to stand up and be seen\, be heard and be with other Patriots that care about our country. We have copies of the Constitution and flags along with signs that can be used. We welcome all to stand tall with us. We also collect food and funds for our town’s Food Pantry.
