Join us for our Team ENOUGH welcome session to learn more about the different ways you can engage. \n\n\n\nTeam ENOUGH is a youth-led program whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. Supported by Brady United\, we harness the expertise and experience of today’s youth to advance our intersectional work across the country. \n\n\n\nLed by an Executive Council\, comprised of students just like us\, we believe that diversity is a strength\, and that only when everyone has a seat at the table can we build an effective movement to prevent all gun violence in all communities. \n\n\n\nFor us\, preventing gun violence not only requires regulating access to firearms but also addressing how systemic racism and environmental factors cause this form of bloodshed to run especially rampant in communities of color. SUMMARY:Community Resilience\, Readiness and Resistance Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Building our capacity for resilience is an important component of the community organizing work we’re doing here in eastern Massachusetts. The current administration is going to be in power at least through January 2029. That is 38 more months. They have only been in power for 11 months so far\, which means that we are only about 20% of the way through this presidential term. Figuring out ways to stay engaged will be critical because we are all needed – particularly as we become more comfortable with being engaged in resistance activity and as we move into noncooperation activities. We can each find our own ways of making this work sustainable but it will take some openness to learning\, experimentation\, and practice. \n\n\n\nThis two-hour workshop by the Boston Trainers Collective (BTC) is designed to promote collective resilience and community safety. Participants will be taught a framework for cultivating readiness and resilience as a foundation for long-term resistance\, personal and collective care\, and preparedness for the wide range of other challenges that may lie ahead such as climate-related crises\, social unrest\, and economic volatility. Participants will leave with concrete steps that can be taken immediately to start building readiness and resilience as individuals\, organizations\, and communities. \n\n\n\nFounded by Rebecca Riccio\, the BTC is a group of volunteer activists and organizers associated with a variety of racial and social justice-oriented organizations in Greater Boston. \n\n\n\nBring a friend or two! DESCRIPTION:Progress NC will present a report on its pilot Storyteller program\, funded by All in for NC. We will hear from: \n\n\n\n\nElisabeth Greenleaf\, Progress NC executive director;\n\n\n\nAleccia Sutton\, Community Voices organizer\, Progress NC.\n\n\n\nMayor Weyling J. White\, the first Black mayor of Ahoskie\, NC\, will also speak. Mayor White has participated in Progress’s storyteller training and is working to engage other storytellers in rural North Carolina.\n\n\n\n\nThey will describe their work in recruiting and training storytellers from across the state\, as well as building an in-state media caucus. The team will also present on their upcoming training in January and their exciting curriculum for returning participants. \n\n\n\nModerator: Jess Jollett\, Progress NC special projects consultant.

DESCRIPTION:Weekly GAIN Standout – Northborough\, MA \n\n\n\nPlease join Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) each Wednesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm in front of Northborough’s “Old Town Hall” at the intersection of Routes 20 and 135\, next to CVS. Meet our group as we hold our signs\, create community\, educate the public\, and create good trouble. This is a fun-filled event and a busy location with great visibility. \n\n\n\nWe are continuing this weekly standout even while it’s dark – because it’s a great spot. The streetlights and headlights keep our signs visible. Some bring colored lights or glow sticks to make it more fun. \n\n\n\nPlease bring a sign if you have one\, but that’s not a requirement. We often have extras\, and sometimes blanks to create your own. \n\n\n\nNote: If the forecast shows 32 degrees or lower or heavy rain for the standout time\, please consider the event canceled. \n\n\n\nPlease park in the free municipal parking lot on Blake Street\, next to the standout.
