Waltham based Boston Dynamics plans to sign a $2 million contract for ICE to purchase Boston Dynamics’ Spot robotic dogs in support of ICE’s immigrant detention and deportation operations. \n\n\n\nThe issue: Boston Dynamics’ strict ethical principles state that its robot dogs must work “in service of human needs” and that government use of the four-legged devices must not involve “violation of privacy and civil right laws.” Yet ICE has repeatedly shown it is incapable of adhering to these principles as it detains and deports millions of immigrants while routinely violating their Constitutional rights. ICE has also resisted all efforts of accountability. Newly raised enforcement quotas\, coupled with less well vetted and trained agents\, further heightens potential abuses in using the robot dogs. \n\n\n\nBoston Museum of Science has a hugely popular Spot Robot Dog exhibit. Join us at Salem’s Call’s Weekly Standout Rallies\, in the heart of downtown Salem each Saturday. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe gather at noontime in Riley Plaza\, to raise our signs and voices in opposition to the agenda coming out of Washington. Here you’ll find like minded folks with signs reading “Dump Trump”\, “End the I.C.E Age”\, “Protect Social Security”\, “Due Process is not Optional”\, and many more. DESCRIPTION:Join members of three Brookline pro-democracy groups — indivisible Activist Evenings\, Brookline Pax\, and Speak Out\, Seniors! — for our weekly rally at Coolidge Corner. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe gather to raise our voices and our signs in defense of democracy\, justice\, and decency — and to stand united against the abuses of the Trump administration and the forces that threaten our rights and freedoms. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe stand for: \n\n\n\n• Immigrant rights\, human rights\, and racial justice \n\n\n\n• Free speech\, the Constitution\, and the rule of law \n\n\n\n• Access to health and healthcare for all \n\n\n\n• Protection of our planet and the future we leave to the next generation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe choose empathy over cruelty\, peace over violence\, and hope over fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur rallies are peaceful\, spirited\, and uplifting — a chance to connect\, recharge\, and stand up for what matters. Bring your friends\, your voice\, and your sign (or borrow one of ours!). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll are welcome!  The rally is multi-generational and family-friendly; those using walkers or other mobility devices may use them to sit to participate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the event of inclement weather\, we’ll each use our best judgment about whether to attend.
