DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm\, starting September 4. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule (Starting Thursday\, September 4 – more dates to follow) \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. SUMMARY:Boston ICE Party
DESCRIPTION:On the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party (December 16\, 1773)\, we will be meeting on the Congress Street Bridge near the Boston Tea Party Museum to dump ice cubes into the Fort Point Channel in bulk. You can either buy bags of ice or make your own at home and bring them with you in a container. The goal is make as big of a splash as possible with the most easily accessible ingredients that everyone can bring. We will be protesting the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) by dumping ice cubes into the same harbor that tea was dumped over 250 years ago. This will be a peaceful act of non-violence. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nThis will be a mostly symbolic event. As such\, the more people who participate the better so share this link with as many people as possible (ideally 342 to represent the original crates of tea but we might not get that many signups). Ice cubes can be easily found and made at home so there’s no excuse not to bring any (if you want to participate then you will have to bring more than one tray of ice cubes from your freezer). Everyone should have a container of some kind at home that they can bring: igloo coolers\, small trash cans\, Gatorade buckets\, plastic grocery bags\, etc. Again\, we want to make a big splash so there’s more people who participate the better. If you want to get creative and freeze food dye or overpriced tea/juice from the grocery store then that’s fine but just make sure that it is biodegradable (no chemicals or popsicle sticks). \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. DESCRIPTION:Join us to support Essau\, as he reports to the ICE Field Office in Burlington.  Essau is an immigrant from Tanzania and a member of the Zen Center North Shore who has lived in Massachusetts for more than a decade.  \n\n\n\nWe will gather on Monday\, Dec. 1st from 9am – 12pm: \n\n\n\n 9am: Canopy Raising\, Rally and Prayer Circle \n\n\n\n10am: Essau’s Appointment Time \n\n\n\n10am-12pm:  Waiting & Witness March  \n\n\n\nIf you would like to participate in the canopy raising\, please gather by 8:45am. \n\n\n\nClergy:  Please wear clergy attire and gather at 8:45am. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nCanopies of Compassion Campaign Description:  As our nation erupts in anger and grief over the ruthless and violent arrests and deportations of immigrants\, our faith traditions teach us to love our neighbors and care for those who are vulnerable and in need.  In the Jewish and Christian scriptures\, Abraham and Sarah built their home in a tent that was open on all sides – a canopy that was a sign of welcome and hospitality for all people.  The Essex County Community Organization (ECCO)\, along with other faith and justice organizations\, has launched the multifaith Canopies of Compassion Campaign in support of immigrant rights.  We urge all Massachusetts officials\, elected and appointed\, to make the Commonwealth a true canopy of safety and protection for all residents. \n\n\n\nParking:  Ample parking is available behind the Macy’s at Burlington Mall (75 Burlington Mall Road\, Burlington)

DESCRIPTION:Weekly GAIN Standout – Northborough\, MA \n\n\n\nPlease join Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) each Wednesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm in front of Northborough’s “Old Town Hall” at the intersection of Routes 20 and 135\, next to CVS. Meet our group as we hold our signs\, create community\, educate the public\, and create good trouble. This is a fun-filled event and a busy location with great visibility. \n\n\n\nWe are continuing this weekly standout even while it’s dark – because it’s a great spot. The streetlights and headlights keep our signs visible. Some bring colored lights or glow sticks to make it more fun. \n\n\n\nPlease bring a sign if you have one\, but that’s not a requirement. We often have extras\, and sometimes blanks to create your own. \n\n\n\nNote: If the forecast shows 32 degrees or lower or heavy rain for the standout time\, please consider the event canceled. \n\n\n\nPlease park in the free municipal parking lot on Blake Street\, next to the standout.
