We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. It’s a flashing warning light that the wheels are coming off the fascism bus.” \n\n\n\nNow\, as we turn the page to 2026\, we need to slash the tires on said bus. In other words\, we need to deliver massive Democratic wins in the November midterm elections. Why? DESCRIPTION:Please join us in Swampscott as we take part in this Nationwide event on Tuesday January 20th from 3:00-4:30PM at the monument on Humphrey Street across from King’s beach. \n\n\n\nBring a friend or 2 or 3 and your signs\, posters\, flags\, cowbells and your patriotic spirit! Please note that we will NOT have our weekly Thursday (1/22) protest that week. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nThis a local Indivisible event! \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. DESCRIPTION:One year into Trump’s second regime\, we face an escalating fascist threat: raids on our communities\, troops occupying our cities\, attacks on immigrants\, families torn apart\, mass surveillance\, and terror used to keep us silent. It is time for our communities to escalate as well. \n\n\n\n2025 was a year of marches that showed our collective strength. And as the threats grow\, our movement must evolve and escalate. Trump and his allies have already made clear that a second term would bring a deeper wave of misogyny\, racism\, xenophobia\, and violence than the first. \n\n\n\nOn January 20th\, we call on our communities to organize teams\, call your neighbors and classmates\, and turn your back and walk out on fascism. Host mutual aid planning meetings\, organize public service\, but walk out to block the normal routines of power\, and make the stakes real. This is a protest and a promise. In the face of fascism\, we will be ungovernable. \n\n\n\n★ We walk away from fascism. ★ \n\n\n\n★ We walk towards a Free America. ★ \n\n\n\n★ We fight for a future that belongs to us all. ★ \n\n\n\n★ Everybody in\, nobody out. ★ \n\n\n\n★ Welcome to the Free America Walkout ★ \n\n\n\nLOCAL EVENT NOTE: We are committed to peaceful activism.
