Volunteer peacekeepers help ensure the intended message is delivered by keeping the event safe. Peacekeepers may direct traffic\, de-escalate conflict if there are counter protesters\, and support the success of the action. There is a significant need for more peacekeepers. There are a range of roles for volunteers who complete the training. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin this virtual one hour training by experienced peacekeeper Elaine Almquist. The training will cover: \n\n\n\nCommitment to non-violence\, the purpose of peacekeeping\, planning for safety\, peacekeeping positioning\, how peacekeeping differs from other roles\, de-escalation\, and debriefing.

We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Long considered a symbol of peace and hope\, we plan to come together and deliver them to the nearest ice detention center on President’s Day\, February 16\, 2026. \n\n\n\nPerhaps we’ll gather them in a garland to hang on a fence or from a tree. We are unsure if any leadership from our group can attend\, but we know there will be a representative from the NAACP Cape Cod branch in attendance.  \n\n\n\nThis case involves the most serious level of alleged violence and the loss of a life. Moments like this matter. Stay tuned for information about speakers\, breakout sessions\, and more. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to hone your skills\, network with activists from across the state\, and get energized for the fights to come. \n\n\n\nOur Annual Meeting is open to everyone. However\, you must be a member to vote for members up for election or re-election to the Board. You also must be a member to nominate yourself or someone else for election. \n\n\n\nTo nominate yourself or someone else to the Board\, submit this form to the Governance Committee at: governance@progressivemass.com. Please submit your nomination by January 3rd. Elections will take place at business portion of our annual meeting.
