SUMMARY:Fix ICE!
DESCRIPTION:Come join us Monday and Tuesday 11-1 to protest ICE cruelties. \n\n\n\nWhere: Burlington\, MA: From 11–12 we hold signs on a busy street to communicate our message publicly\, and from 12–1 we gather outside the ICE office for a more informal time of signs\, speaking out\, connection\, and visible solidarity with immigrants while making our presence known to ICE.What to bring: A sign!Meeting point: Corner of Burlington Mall Road and District Ave\, closest to Pressed Cafe. After: Optionally join us for lunch at Pressed Cafe. \n\n\n\nParking near 1000 District Ave\, Burlington \n\n\n\nICE Jail\n\n\n\nFor a deep look at what happens inside ICE detention\, visit the full resource at https://bearingwitnessne.org/inside-ice \n\n\n\nInteractions\n\n\n\n\nImmigrants who are fortunate to leave the facility have shown gratitude for our presence and some share their stories with us.\n\n\n\nICE agents tend to cover their faces with masks\, many record us with their phones\, others give a satisfied smile or laugh\, they rarely say anything.\n\n\n\nThe security officers stationed at the front of the building have not hassled us.\n\n\n\nPassersby from nearby businesses often thank us for being there\, and many have shared that they never knew this was an ICE facility.\n\n\n\n\nParking for District Ave Protests\n\n\n\nThere is parking at busineses and on the street\, but there are risks. See information about where parking is officially allowed and the risk of being towed in the District Ave Area on the What to Expect page of the Bearing Witness page. Note that no one has been towed since Jared and Laurie started protesting in April 2025. In order to be legally towned\, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266\, Section 120D specifies that in order for towing to occur you need to be warned by a sign or a person that parking is restricted. In addition\, the owner of the property must get permission from the chief of police or designee and provide certain information.

SUMMARY:Burma Shave Standouts - Arlington
DESCRIPTION:The third No Kings protest is scheduled for March 28. Events are being planned throughout the U.S. and in many foreign countries to demand that Trump and the Republican-led Congress stop their unconstitutional power grab and the cruel destruction of our federal government. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo publicize the No Kings protests\, we plan to hold signs from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on three dates in March at high visibility locations in Arlington. Signs will be provided. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe signs are designed after the World War 2 era poem which begins “First they came for the Communists\, and I did not speak out….”  We will replace “Communists” with “immigrants”\, etc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are looking for people who are available to pick up a sign by 4:15 and hold it at a designated location for the full hour\, 4:30-5:30 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP for 1\, 2 or all 3 dates. The location for each standout and other important details will be sent closer to the date. You will be notified if the standout needs to be rescheduled or cancelled due to bad weather. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Bear Witness- Protest and Food Drive Wednesdays at ICE
DESCRIPTION:“We invite you to stand in solidarity outside the ICE Enforcement & Removal Operations Office in Burlington every Wednesday from 11am-1pm. We’re grateful to those who have previously joined us at this facility\, and we hope that more will consider attending. Together\, we can show love & support for immigrants\, express our shame at ICE\, and bear witness to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government.”Schedule11:00-11:30\, Welcome chat; orientation for new folks; sign-making for those who need them11:30-12:30\, Stand (or sit) with signs12:30-1:00\, Short walk along the sidewalk on District AveThe ICE building in Burlington is the detention and enforcement office for New England. Immigrants must come here for appointments. The standouts are peaceful and offer support for those who must show up here. Signs expressing support for immigrants are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs far as we know\, the Mall is continuing to restrict parking to mall shoppers only. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. That bus is free.\n\n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

SUMMARY:NO KINGS Massachusetts Protests
DESCRIPTION:FIND YOUR PROTEST HERE-MAP AND LIST. PROTESTS ADDED DAILY\, CHECK THE MAP IF YOU DON’T SEE YOURS. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSend a clear message to the regime: we are not cowed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs Trump promises to escalate his war on American cities\, we’re preparing for the largest protest against the regime yet. June’s No Kings deprived Trump of his birthday parade media splash. October’s No Kings steeled American resolve against Trump’s occupation of cities and deployment of secret police terrorizing American communities. Since then\, people have continued to rise up nonviolently against the Trump administration’s ongoing brutality and abuses of power\, including the latest escalation in Minnesota. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT NOTE: A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. SUMMARY:Stop – This Is a Tax Robbery! Standout
DESCRIPTION:This peaceful standout is a response to a billionaire class that is extracting everything from working people and giving nothing back. Your taxes fund yachts\, the ICE and CBP slush fund\, unconstitutional government surveillance\, and war crimes disguised as military operations nobody voted for\, while SNAP gets cut\, health insurance and prescriptions get more unaffordable\, and working families choose between rent\, healthcare\, childcare\, and groceries. We’re not demanding charity. We’re demanding much fairer tax policy that builds America up\, not break it down. The village built everything. It’s time the castle paid its share. Join us to say\, “Stop – This is a tax robbery!” \n\n\n\n\nBring your signs\n\n\n\nBring your power\n\n\n\nBring your people\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for a 30 minute shift\n\n\n\n\nThis is a safe environment for all of our communities: Teachers\, Veterans\, Retirees. Moms\, Dads\, brothers\, sisters\, teens and children (our next generation of activists!). People of all colors\, race\, genders\, ethnicities\, abilities\, and disabilities. LGBTQIA+ … you name it YOU ARE WELCOME! \n\n\n\nSign ideas: My Taxes Should Not Fund War Crimes – No Taxes for Dictators / Fascists – Tea’s Up in 2026 Like It’s 1776 – Abolish ICE and Its Slush Fund – Grifters aren’t patriots – Clean up on aisle 47 \n\n\n\nEXPECTATIONS: This will be a PEACEFUL standout. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated. Do not engage with any counter-protesters. Do not bring weapons of any kind\, even if you have a license to carry.

SUMMARY:JFK Students and Allies March to De-ICE Citizens Bank
DESCRIPTION:You may have heard about the inspiring JFK Middle School students that staged a ICE OUT walk-out last month. Now they have joined the campaign to De-ICE Citizens Bank! \n\n\n\nJoin us on Friday\, April 17th to march with student activists from JFK to Citizens Bank via the bike path. We’ll start at 3:10 at the end of the path\, march for an hour to Citizens Bank on King Street\, then hold a rally from approximately 4:15 -5:15. The rally will be held on sidewalk in front of Stop and Shop (Citizens Bank has a branch inside Stop and Shop). \n\n\n\nYou can join the students for all or any part of this. March with them for a bit. Join them at 4:15 at the bank. Or do the whole thing! \n\n\n\nThe students will make some brief remarks at the rally\, and present the De-ICE Citizens Bank Coalition with something to bring to bank headquarters on 4/23 as we protest outside the annual shareholder meeting. \n\n\n\nSend Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business. \n\n\n\nPlease only bring signs specific to this action: De-ICE Citizens Bank; Cages Aren’t Communities; Citizens Bank – Stop Financing ICE Prisons; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don’t Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank- Cut Ties With ICE Prisons; etc. We’ll have some extras too. \n\n\n\nNotorious private prison companies The GEO Group and CoreCivic are being called on to be part of an unprecedented expansion in capacity as part of the Trump administration’s mass detention\, deportation\, and surveillance policies. \n\n\n\nTo accommodate the planned increase in detention capacity\, GEO and CoreCivic must undertake expensive construction and renovation projects. Since 2019\, though\, most of their lenders have cut ties with the two companies\, which have faced allegations from forced labor to securities fraud. \n\n\n\nStart at bike path from Bridge Road Florence. End at Citizens Bank at 228 King Street Northampton (Stop and Shop Plaza). Join for any or all of this! \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nCitizens Bank has instead deepened its relationship with the private prison industry\, taking on new roles in financing both CoreCivic and GEO\, all while continuing to tell their customers that they’re focused on strengthening our communities. \n\n\n\nWe won’t quietly stand by as Citizens continues to finance the private prison & ICE detention companies that are harming our communities. The 2019 exodus of banks from the industry in response to activism should be a reminder to us that our voices matter. Now it’s time to use them. Visit www.de-icecitizensbank.org for more information. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We expect hosts to ensure all participants in your event uphold this commitment. We recommend all participants review our safety and security resource before your event: https://indivisi.org/safety.

DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible event! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHelp us to create Trump’s (Side)Walk of Shame. SUMMARY:De-Ice Citizens Bank- Protest at Annual Shareholder Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On April 23\, Citizens Bank will be holding their Annual Shareholder Meeting at its headquarters in Providence\, RI. In response\, a coalition of progressive organizations from the surrounding area will be holding a peaceful standout that we are calling “The People’s Shareholder Meeting to De-ICE Citizens Bank” outside of the headquarters building. \n\n\n\nWe will hold a press conference\, rally the people\, sing and chant our resistance\, educate the general public\, and create artivism to get Citizens Bank De-ICE’d! \n\n\n\nCitizens Bank publicly presents itself as a community-centered institution committed to social responsibility. Yet the bank continues to maintain key financial relationships with CoreCivic and The GEO Group: two notorious\, for-profit\, prison corporations that build and operate immigration detention facilities for ICE\, provide transportation services to ICE\, and operate prisons for mass incarceration. \n\n\n\nFor more information about Citizens Bank’s relationship to the private prison system\, go to www.De-ICECitizensBank.org. You can also contact the De-ICE Coalition at de.ICE.CitizensBank@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Coalition events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Indivisible has a great safety and security resource you can review before the event: https://indivisi.org/safety. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nWear weather appropriate clothing\, bring water and a snack. \n\n\n\nSign Ideas: Cages Aren’t Communities De-ICE Citizens Bank Citizens Bank: Invest in Communities\, Not Cages End Mass Incarceration Say NO to CoreCivic and The GEO Group No Banks for Cages \n\n\n\nThings to note: Parking is either on-street metered or paid parking garages/lots. There are numerous in the area. Public restrooms are located inside the Providence Train Station which is a block north from the standout. \n\n\n\nEditor’s Note: We don’t usually promote events outside of Massachusetts\, however\, this important protest is just about an hour outside of Boston.
