SUMMARY:Mass Call: How to Make Good Trouble
DESCRIPTION:We’re witnessing a Jim Crow-era effort from politicians to restrict our freedom to vote and silence Black and Brown communities in a desperate attempt to stay in power. But we won’t let that happen. \n\n\n\nThat’s why\, from July 17th – July 19th – six years after the passing of Civil Rights hero John Lewis – we’re continuing the fight with the “Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action\,” a national nonpartisan\, nonviolent weekend of action to resist threats against the right to the vote. \n\n\n\nJoin a Mass Call with Good Trouble Lives On to learn how you can organize or attend a local event in your community to continue the fight for civil rights & support one another in exercising our sacred freedom to vote. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nTrue power is built in our neighborhoods. It’s a lesson we’ve learned from the civil rights leaders who came before us\, and it’s a legacy we are actively defending today. Join us on Tuesday\, July 7th to learn how you and your neighborhood can be a part of it. \n\n\n\nGood Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. We require that participants commit to not advocate for\, endorse\, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative. A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.

SUMMARY:Bear Witness- Protest and Food Drive Wednesdays at ICE
DESCRIPTION:Updated with New Carpool and Parking Information! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBEARING WITNESS STANDOUT SCHEDULE AND GUIDELINES \n\n\n\nAbove all\, we are committed to nonviolence. \n\n\n\n\nThe standout takes place every Wednesday\, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. \n\n\n\n\n\nFrom 11 am to noon\, Bearing Witness organizers and special guest speakers address those gathered and discuss a variety of immigration-related topics. \n\n\n\n\n\nFrom noon-12:30 pm\, the loudspeakers are turned toward the ICE building and those gathered are invited to come up to the microphone and read parts of the U.S. Constitution. \n\n\n\n\n\nFrom 12:30-1 p.m.\, the crowd turns and marches down District Avenue to Mall Road\, where we stand with our signs\, sing and chant\, and wave to passing motorists. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe ALWAYS stand peacefully with signs outside the ICE facility.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe ALWAYS hold signs with supportive messages about immigrants and/or against ICE. We do not focus on other issues. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe do not block the entrance\, approach ICE agents\, or block traffic on District Avenue.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe DO NOT stand in restricted areas as designated by Burlington police.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe IGNORE and do not engage with “counter protestors\,” those who are supporters of ICE.\n\n\n\n\nINTERACTIONS WITH DETAINEES AND ICE OFFICIALS\n\n\n\nImmigrants who are fortunate to leave the facility have shown gratitude for our presence and some share their stories with us. \n\n\n\n\nICE agents tend to cover their faces with masks\, many record us with their phones\, others give a smug smile or laugh\, though they rarely say anything.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe security officers stationed at the front of the building have not bothered us to date. \n\n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBEARING WITNESS CARPOOL SERVICE \n\n\n\n\nWe have a NEW volunteer-led carpool\, which operates from a few nearby parking lots. Availability is limited so sign up in advance is highly recommended\, but not required. You can request a ride – or volunteer to be a driver –  using this link (you will receive an email with full details about parking\, etc.):  https://tally.so/r/GxrQkO\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOTHER PARKING OPTIONS \n\n\n\n\nOther than the carpool option\, parking remains an issue for attendees. Please note that you will likely be towed if you park in any private lots along District Avenue or at the Burlington Mall. National Development\, owners of The District properties along District Avenue\, have contracted with Hunter Security Services and Murray’s Towing and will tow cars suspected of parked to attend the standout.  \n\n\n\n\n\nParking is no longer allowed at the AMC Burlington lot. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe MBTA 350 bus runs from the Alewife T stop to Burlington Mall Road. Exit the bus at the “Burlington Mall Road” stop\, opposite NE Executive Park\, which is at the intersection of Mall Road and District Avenue. \n\n\n\n\n\nIf you prefer a shorter bus ride\, you can drive to Burlington and park at the United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St.\, Burlington) or Temple Shalom Emeth (16 Lexington St.\, Burlington) and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Bedford Street.\n\n\n\n\nSIGNS FOR THE STANDOUT\n\n\n\nDue to the ongoing parking issues\, we recommend that standout attendees do not bring their own signs (it clearly shows the towing company that you’re heading to the standout).  \n\n\n\nInstead\, please consider borrowing a sign from the large selection offered by Bearing Witness at each Wednesday standout. Upon arrival ask any safety marshall (wearing an orange vest) for the location of the box of signs. At the conclusion of the standout\, please return the signs to the box.  \n\n\n\nIf you choose to bring a sign — and if you use our new carpool service feel free to bring a sign — please remember that this is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility and is not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside the ICE facility we must remain focused on immigration. Our goal is to come together across any political differences to show our collective support for immigrants and their rights. \n\n\n\nNeed help or ideas for making a sign? Follow these tips! \n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

SUMMARY:Postcards at Panera | Biweekly in North Andover
DESCRIPTION:Come join us to write postcards with Greater Andover Indivisible’s friendly community. Our overarching objective is to get progressive candidates into office approve progressive legislation / defeat MAGA legislation wherever possible.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAvailable postcard campaigns vary from week to week and by pick-up location. We write cards to key districts around the country to: – Provide info about voter registration and encourage people to register; – Remind people of upcoming elections and encourage voting by providing important information about when/where/how to vote; – Build name recognition for progressive candidates; – Inform people about what their MAGA elected officials are doing; – and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScripts vary but often use top-of-mind issues\, like healthcare and cost of living\, to attract recipients’ attention. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. SUMMARY:Mill City Messenging
DESCRIPTION:Join fellow activists and Indivisible Lowell as we write postcards to elected officials and voters. Bring your own refreshments\, favorite pen\, and good conversation! \n\n\n\nVolunteers who came to the June event finished 100 postcards\, each bound to voters in Georgia and Iowa in October\, reminding them to cast their ballots. In July\, we’ll tackle 100 postcards each for Ohio and Pennsylvania. All four states are included in Activate America’s GOTV postcard campaign for the 2026 midterms. \n\n\n\nIf we get through all 200 before time is up\, we can turn our attention to a GOTV postcard campaign for James Talarico\, Democratic Senate candidate in Texas. This one is also an Activate America project. See you there! \n\n\n\nEmail amy@solidaritylowell.com to RSVP\, and with any questions you might have. Learn more.

SUMMARY:Preach Day of Action Training
DESCRIPTION:Today we are witnessing a “Jim-Crow” era effort to restrict our voting power. The late Congressman John Lewis famously stated\, “ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call ‘Good Trouble\,’ Necessary Trouble.” \n\n\n\nWe are asking the faith community to hold a “Good Trouble Service” on your faith institution’s day of worship during the GTLO Weekend of Action. \n\n\n\nJoin us on July 8\, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET as we discuss the Preach Pillar’s involvement in this year’s GTLO. If you are able to stand in faith with us or would like more information\, please register to join us on July 8\, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re a religious leader or a person of faith\, we need you\, nay\, our democracy needs YOU! \n\n\n\nPlease join us for a call with faith leaders to discuss how we can engage in the moral work of supporting and exercising our sacred right to vote. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. On July 8th\, Project World Cup Spotlight will be holding a fun\, high-visibility action to support our immigrant communities and call for an end to ICE and the present administration’s inhumane policies. \n\n\n\nWe are adopting the brilliant giant soccer ball concept first developed by the team at our Atlanta protest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q63d2YSrVJk \n\n\n\nImagine a giant\, eight-foot inflatable soccer ball covered in messages of hope and defiance: \n\n\n\n\nWe Love Immigrants\n\n\n\nKindness Is Always the Best Path\n\n\n\nMelt ICE Now\n\n\n\nFreedom from Fear\n\n\n\nNo One is Illegal\n\n\n\nThe logos for Project World Cup Spotlight\, Visibility Brigade\, 50501 and Global Exchange.\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll also have hundreds of smaller\, 16″ inflatable balls to hand out to the crowds\, spreading the message that “Soccer Unites\, ICE Divides.” This is where you come in. To make this happen\, we need a committed team of at least 30 volunteers (and more is always better!). You’ll help manage our giant ball\, hand out the smaller ones\, and engage with fans in a positive way that gets our urgent message seen by both the public and the media. \n\n\n\nThis will be a day of fun\, community\, and powerful action. Are you ready to be a part of it? \n\n\n\nPlease sign up on our link here to volunteer. More specific info will be sent to you the closer we get to the day. \n\n\n\nThank you for standing with us. Let’s show the world the true spirit of Boston! \n\n\n\nIn solidarity\, The Project World Cup Spotlight Team

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime to Re-Stock\n\n\n\nComfort Cart Running Low on Food Staples \n\n\n\nNow that it is a 5-day/week operation\, the Comfort Cart can run low on food quickly. Please consider bringing a bag of food or donating cash using the Venmo QR below. \n\n\n\nYour generosity is always appreciated. Thank you! \n\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. \n\n\n\n\n\nBefore arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:De-ICE Citizens Bank East Longmeadow
DESCRIPTION:Send Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHelp us build a regular standout at this location! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring signs specific to this action: De-ICE Citizens Bank; Cages Aren’t Communities; Citizens Bank – Stop Financing ICE Prisons; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don’t Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank – Cut Ties With ICE Prisons; etc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCitizens Bank is bankrolling the country’s two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. While most major banks have cut ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group\, Citizens Bank is deepening its financial support for these companies\, which are already holding more than half of the 70\,000 immigrants currently in ICE detention centers across the country. \n\n\n\nThe bank’s capital is supporting a deplorable ICE agenda that aims to fill detention centers with more than 100\,000 people by next year. Even as it publicly touts its commitment to “strengthening our communities\,” Citizens Bank has played a key role in helping The GEO Group and CoreCivic access more than $2.5 billion in financing\, some of it approved earlier this year. This comes as the companies face a mountain of allegations\, including forced labor and wrongful deaths due to understaffing and medical neglect at their facilities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe won’t quietly stand by as Citizens continues to finance the private prison & ICE detention companies that are harming our communities. The 2019 exodus of banks from the industry in response to activism should be a reminder to us that our voices matter. Now it’s time to use them. Visit www.de-icecitizensbank.org for more information and other actions you can take! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRemember\, we want to be in solidarity with workers including bank branch employees. Treat everyone with respect and do not harass or film employees. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Coalition events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We expect hosts to ensure all participants in your event uphold this commitment. We recommend all participants review a safety and security resource before your event\, such as https://indivisi.org/safety. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. DESCRIPTION:Send Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business. \n\n\n\nHelp us take a stand at the Arlington Heights Citizens Bank branch so we can spread the word across all the branches. \n\n\n\nYour signs are welcome: De-ICE Citizens Bank; Cages Aren’t Communities; Citizens Bank – Stop Financing ICE Prisons; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don’t Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank – Cut Ties With ICE Prisons; etc. \n\n\n\nCitizens Bank is bankrolling the country’s two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for exact address\n\n\n\n\nWe aren’t standing idly by. The 2019 exodus of banks from the private prson industry in response to activism should be a reminder to us that our voices matter. Now it’s time to use them. Visit www.de-icecitizensbank.org for more information and other actions you can take! \n\n\n\nWe are in solidarity with workers including bank branch employees. Treat everyone with respect and do not harass or film employees. \n\n\n\nThe Coalition is committed to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We expect hosts to ensure all participants in your event uphold this commitment. We recommend all participants review a safety and security resource before your event\, such as https://indivisi.org/safety.

SUMMARY:Rapid Response Solidarity Standout and Vigil
DESCRIPTION:This past Tuesday\, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by ICE agents in Houston\, Texas\, during a traffic stop in which they were looking for someone else\, who they say matched Lorenzo’s description. The ICE agents were not wearing body cams and the Federal Government is already spinning a narrative that we have heard before to justify past shootings. LULAC\, the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the US\, has launched a petition called for a fully transparent investigation and accountability for Lorenzo’s death. \n\n\n\nIt will take immense public pressure to force accountability\, but accountability is long overdue. Jonathan Ross\, who murdered Reneé Good\, is still walking free as are Alex Pretti’s killers. If we do not respond collectively\, the message we will send is clear: ICE can continue to kill people\, both on the streets and in detention facilities across the country\, with impunity. Americans will simply continue with our business\, and ICE (and our elected officials) will pay no price for their violence. Community members in Houston took the streets today\, and in consultation with organizers from Fuerza\, we decided today to organize a rapid response solidarity standout and vigil tomorrow\, Friday July 10\, from 7:30-8:30pm on Main and Moody Streets (see flyer for sharing at the end of this newsletter). \n\n\n\nWe want to make it clear that in Waltham\, we will not turn a blind eye to ICE shootings nor to ICE’s ongoing abuses in detention centers. In Waltham\, we will stand up publicly for our immigrant neighbors\, friends\, and family members; we will not be intimidated into silence\, we will continue to take up space and exercise our rights\, and we will demand justice and accountability\, as well as ICE OUT of our community. \n\n\n\nImmediately prior to this standout\, we have an existing postcard writing gathering at First Parish in Waltham\, from 5:30-7:30pm. We will have postcard packets to fill out and will also have sign making supplies in case you want to come make a sign prior the standout.
