SUMMARY:Standout to SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS - No Fear Street Theater
DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come out to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\, and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are not there merely to make propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. We are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We have nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you REGISTER by FRIDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held rain or shine & only cancel for large storms or high winds. We recommend dressing comfortably for the weather and bring a water bottle. Bring your sign in support of Immigrants or you are most welcome to use one of the ones we have on hand.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a creative\, participatory protest. If you support immigrants and their constitutional rights\, join us! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.nofearstreettheater.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584725253124\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPARKING\, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & other INFO: This is an outdoor event held at our standout area at the CORNER of MALL ROAD & DISTRICT AVE. The sidewalk area has a paved area and also a grassy area with trees in the background. There is some PARKING about 2 blocks away. Please NOTE: parking that is closer to the standout is private parking & reserved for staff and customers of the businesses and shopping center. ( Some cars have been towed from the private parking\, so we recommend that people chose other options.) Parking info. for the recommended parking areas will be sent to registrants. Public transportation is also available through the MBTA 350 route\, LexExpress & LRTA all of which have stops within 1 block of our standout area.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Latest Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis a local INDIVISIBLE event! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Signs of Fascism Protest-Littleton
DESCRIPTION:Educate the electorate! \n\n\n\nHold one of our team’s Signs of Fascism at Littleton’s Stand Up for Justice Day on July 18 to let fellow citizens know that Trump’s power-grab formula wasn’t invented overnight. \n\n\n\nIt is based on fascist-takeover methods used in Germany and Italy in the 1930s and more recently by Hungary’s notorious (and finally deposed) dictator\, Viktor Orban. \n\n\n\n\nSign up for updates\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll provide you with a sign. and\, concurrently there’ll be a De-ICE Citizens Bank protest (against financing for-profit ICE prisons) and a Good Trouble Lives On protest (against Trump’s racist policies) at LIttleton Common. SUMMARY:Indivisible Easthampton Action Gathering
DESCRIPTION:It’s been a year since Indivisible Easthampton was started! We’re excited about what we’ve accomplished together – contacting our legislators about important issues\, protesting the ICE facility in Burlington and at Home Depot in Hadley\, bringing attention to Citizens Bank through the DE-ICE campaign\, sending postcards to voters about elections in key states\, supporting veterans and federal workers\, and bringing the community together to protest unjust policies and actions by the current regime. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe know that we’re facing even more challenges as we get closer to the mid-term elections. We want to be ready as best we can. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSome of you took the time to complete our recent survey\, and to share your ideas and concerns. Thank you! A core group of our members met recently to review and discuss the results\, and to develop a focus for the year based on YOUR input. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLet’s meet to celebrate what we’ve done and to move forward with our focus for the coming year. We’ll break out into groups to learn\, brainstorm\, and plan for action. Together\, we’ll appreciate each other\, our impact\, and the opportunities we face\, with light refreshments\, connection\, and community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:FROM FORCE TO FLOW: Navigating Conflict\, Power\, and Resilience in Our Work Together
DESCRIPTION:812 Memorial Drive 812 Community Room 2nd floor Cambridge MA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFROM FORCE TO FLOW: Navigating Conflict\, Power\, and Resilience in mƙð Work \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn our peace\, justice\, and community-seeking efforts\, we must practice what we preach in order to be truly effective. Our values for equity\, healthy relationships\, meeting human needs\, and honoring dignity all depend on our own ability to model and live them out. To continuously grow into our better selves\, we must learn to align our minds with our bodies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis interactive activity will explore how systemic conflict\, power\, and accountability actually live within our physical selves. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Will Take Away \n\n\n\n\nDeeper Self-Awareness: Understand how your personal identity\, biography\, and leadership style impact your daily work and how others experience you.\n\n\n\nPractical Self-Assessment: Gain tools to quickly ask yourself if you are the most appropriate actor in a given situation and evaluate your unique contributions.\n\n\n\nResilience & Community Care: Learn how shifting out of individualistic stress and into relational “webs of support” can sustain you in the long run.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Details and Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. The press release from De-ICE Citizens says in part “We still have questions and our campaign will continue.” Read the entire press release. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin thousands of people across the country to send Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring signs specific to this action: De-ICE Citizens Bank; Cages Aren’t Communities; Citizens Bank – Stop Financing ICE Prisons; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don’t Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank – Cut Ties With ICE Prisons; etc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCitizens Bank is bankrolling the country’s two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. SUMMARY:Block by Block - Phone Bank with SURJ! (Win Primaries for Progressive Champions in MI & MN!)
DESCRIPTION:Come phone bank with SURJ!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are now in a decisive phase of the fight against authoritarianism\, the threat is real and the stakes are high. And people are fighting back. Millions have protested\, and we’ve watched powerful organizing coming out of Minneapolis\, Chicago\, and other cities that have borne the brunt of ICE’s assaults on our communities. Mass anger exists\, but mass organization does not yet exist at the scale needed to win. Movements become real when they reach millions: organized\, trained\, and acting together. \n\n\n\nCome take action with SURJ! We’ll be calling voters about primary races working to elect progressive champions in key states and districts to ultimately take back BOTH the House and Senate this November. These races include: \n\n\n\n\nWill Lawrence\, who is an organizer and coalition-builder with experience speaking truth to power and getting results at the local\, state and federal level running to represent Michigan Congressional District 7 in Lansing.\n\n\n\nKaela Berg\, who is an organizer\, flight attendant\, union leader with AFA/CWA\, and a Minnesota State Representative. She has worked up to three jobs\, bought groceries from the dollar store to feed her family\, and lived without health insurance during a global pandemic and she is now running to represent Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District with an economic populist message. \n\n\n\n\nCome as you are! No experience needed! Full training & lots of support included! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCandidate Schedule:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLawrence for MI Congressional District 7 – 6/25\, 7/16\, 7/25\, 8/1\, 8/2\, 8/4\n\n\n\nBerg for MN Congressional District 2 – 6/18\, 8/8\, 8/9\, 8/11\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLogistics:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese phone banks are online on the Zoom platform. Log into the call on Zoom on your computer and bring your phone to make the calls (if you only have one device\, still come!).\n\n\n\nWe have a robust training on the call to give you all the information you need — a script\, technical support\, and coaching throughout.\n\n\n\nReturners can start early.\n\n\n\nYou will receive an email with orientation materials ahead of time.\n\n\n\nPlease note the time zone for call time.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeeling Unsure?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur model works – learn from the best! Our phonebanks have one of the highest rates of success in the country. No matter whether you’re brand new caller or a seasoned organizer\, if you join our banks\, you can trust that you are putting your effort into a method that works. And you’ll get to learn powerful organizing skills from seasoned leaders!\n\n\n\nOur conversations are based on open-ended questions and deep listening. You do not need to be an expert on the issues or a candidate – our phone banks are successful because we deeply connect with voters and make them feel heard.\n\n\n\nWant to hear what a phonebank is like? Check out this video interviewing SURJ phonebankers.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContext:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs Trump and republicans defund the social safety net and peddle more racist lies\, millions of people are increasingly feeling the effects of the billionaire agenda. We know this fight is on multiple fronts\, and this fall we have an opportunity to harness the energy of the streets and rising resentment towards November’s elections – to not only wrest power from MAGA\, but to put candidates in office who are willing to stand up to Trump and fight for working class people. BOTH the House AND Senate are in play for Democrats to take back control and this year we aim to put progressive working class champions in a position to WIN. \n\n\n\nFor the last six years\, SURJ’s phone banking program has grown to be one of the strongest in the country\, reaching millions of working class people with our vision of finding our shared interest in standing alongside people of color and rejecting white supremacy. This year is an opportunity to deliver strategic blows to the MAGA agenda and throw down a gauntlet to force the Democratic Party to reckon with true progressive\, working class fighters. \n\n\n\nTo do this\, we’re focusing on key House districts in California and New York between April and June in addition to a critical Senate race in Maine. In July and August we will shift focus to primaries for key House districts in Minnesota and Michigan. \n\n\n\nThese races will affect millions of working class people this year. Our work on Primary races this spring and summer will set us up to add more progressive champions to the halls of congress and take back power this November. We will continue to build power to stop MAGA\, by supporting unapologetically progressive working class champions. Alongside our partners across the country\, this is the time for our movements to offer a bold vision and bring our people into it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout SURJ:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShowing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is the largest organization in the country that explicitly organizes white communities for justice. Instead of choosing racism\, silence\, or complicity\, we help white communities choose justice. We have thousands of national members and 150+ chapters across the US and Canada.

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime to Re-Stock\n\n\n\nComfort Cart Running Low on Food Staples \n\n\n\nNow that it is a 5-day/week operation\, the Comfort Cart can run low on food quickly. Please consider bringing a bag of food or donating cash using the Venmo QR below. \n\n\n\nYour generosity is always appreciated. Thank you! \n\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. \n\n\n\n\n\nBefore arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network
