SUMMARY:Postcard Party
DESCRIPTION:Nashoba Indivisible local event. \n\n\n\nPostcard writing and postcard pickup. \n\n\n\nWe’re writing to rally Democrats in Virginia to vote YES in the April 21 special election to restore fair elections. Virginians have the choice to approve temporary congressional districts to level the playing field after Trump and Republicans created many new safe US House seats in red states. \n\n\n\nNeed to mail your postcards between April 7 and April 14. The ideal mailing date is April 10. Only mail cards later than April 10 if you need the extra time. After April 14\, some of the cards would likely not arrive until after Election Day. \n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP for materials count\n\n\n\n\nSecond one – News boosting postcards to combat disinformation (200) These need to be sent on April 15. \n\n\n\nBoth of these postcards are free\, so the only cost is stamps – that’s 15 postcards for $10. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Postcard Get-Together
DESCRIPTION:Write for Democracy! \n\n\n\nWriting postcards is an easy way to reach voters\, legislators\, and others with pro-democracy messages. \n\n\n\nLast week’s postcard party hosted by an Indivisible LAB member to write postcards to re-elect civil rights warrior North Carolina State Senator Lisa Grafstein was a big hit\, so she’s hosting another one next week!  \n\n\n\nThe state legislature in NC is on the knife’s edge to keep away a Republican super-majority that continuously proposes terrible bills and then overrides the governor’s veto. \n\n\n\nPostcard packets that include 10 postcards\, addresses\, and stamps will be available for $10 each. Drinks and baked goods can be purchased from The Roasted Granola Cafe. Sign up HERE. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates and for postcard supplies

SUMMARY:Brockton Singing Resistance organizing meeting
DESCRIPTION:Minneapolis showed us the power of Singing Resistance\, catalyzing the formation of groups all around the country. A few of us in Brockton brought increased energy and joy to NO KINGS Brockton\, and we want to continue singing at protests. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nBrockton Singing Resistance is planned not to be a choir\, but instead to get other people singing and adding energy to protests and other events. Outdoor singing is challenging\, so we prioritize enthusiasm and loudness over vocal skill — and no music experience necessary. If we succeed it is not by pleasing listeners\, but by getting others to sing! \n\n\n\nIt’s practically impossible to sing live at this (very short!) Zoom meeting\, but we CAN Zoom to see how many are interested in an ongoing Brockton Singing Resistance\, and decide when to meet in person\, and decide what comes next! \n\n\n\nIn the meantime\, here are two YouTube playlists. The first contains a variety of music that livened up NO KINGS Brockton\, while the second is the songs we sang when we gathered for that purpose — these are simple and repetitive so people can learn them on the fly. See how you like them! Bring a playlist or song ideas of your own to share at the Zoom! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Postcard Party
DESCRIPTION:Send hand-written postcards to voters in states that will play a key role in taking back Congress and in electing leaders who will fight back against the current authoritarian regime. Postcards educate voters\, urge them to register to vote\, and urge them to vote for specific candidates in special elections\, primaries\, and the November 2026 mid-term elections. Hand-written postcards have been proven in multiple studies to boost turnout enough to swing elections. Each packet of 15 postcards has everything you need\, and costs $10 to cover stamps and cards for those who can afford it. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nIt’s more fun to write together\, but if you can’t stay\, you can also stop by and pick up postcards to write at home.

SUMMARY:Bear Witness- Protest and Food Drive Wednesdays at ICE
DESCRIPTION:“We invite you to stand in solidarity outside the ICE Enforcement & Removal Operations Office in Burlington every Wednesday from 11am-1pm. We’re grateful to those who have previously joined us at this facility\, and we hope that more will consider attending. Together\, we can show love & support for immigrants\, express our shame at ICE\, and bear witness to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government.”Schedule11:00-11:30\, Welcome chat; orientation for new folks; sign-making for those who need them11:30-12:30\, Stand (or sit) with signs12:30-1:00\, Short walk along the sidewalk on District AveThe ICE building in Burlington is the detention and enforcement office for New England. Immigrants must come here for appointments. The standouts are peaceful and offer support for those who must show up here. Signs expressing support for immigrants are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs far as we know\, the Mall is continuing to restrict parking to mall shoppers only. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. That bus is free.\n\n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

We do this through three strategies: Mobilize through mass action\, Elect working class champions\, and Grow a strong\, active base. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis online training series is designed to train and support new groups\, circles and chapters to run Block by Block: Solidarity Rising in your communities for the rest of the year. Groups will deepen organizing skills\, align with national strategy\, and be ready to take action locally. We’ll meet every other week online for training. On the off weeks\, your group will gather locally to practice skills\, grow your base\, and take action. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training series will consist of three modules\, each focused on one part of our strategy: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrow Module — March 4 & 18\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn how to bring new people into your group\, plug them into meaningful roles\, build strong and accountable teams\, and develop leaders who can carry the work forward. Growing our base is essential to winning—this is how we build the scale and discipline needed to carry out Block by Block for the rest of the year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMobilize Module — April 1\, 15 & 29\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet trained to organize coordinated\, strategic action using tools of mass noncooperation. Prepare to move quickly when our rights and democracy are threatened\, and build toward May Day: A Day Without Workers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElect Module — May 13\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn why governing power is a key part of our strategy and the role your circle\, chapter\, or group can play in supporting progressive candidates and blocking MAGA power. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy the end of this series\, your group will be ready to grow your base\, mobilize for action\, and take part in electoral strategy. We’ll provide all the structure\, toolkits\, and guidance you need to plug into our national program and make a real difference—block by block. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe encourage at least one member from every group\, circle\, or chapter to join\, but ideally more! Sign up for all the sessions—even if you can’t make them all\, we’ll send recordings so you won’t miss anything. And for more info on the Block by Block campaign\, check out the 1-pager. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for Details

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network
