If you’re unable to attend the hearings in person\, you can watch them online using the hearing links above. \n\n\n\n\nLivestream hearings here\n\n\n\n\nNext Tuesday\, November 25\, two state legislative committees have scheduled separate hearings for key bills to protect immigrants. We know many of you may be away or busy with holiday preparations\, but please take a few minutes to email or call your state legislators about these important bills that IMC members recently endorsed. Get more information about actions to take\, including suggested call scripts\, in the Teams section below.Earlier this month\, the Public Safety Committee scheduled a hearing for several immigration bills\, including the Safe Communities Act\, starting at 11:30 AM in Gardner Auditorium\, the largest hearing room at the State House. \n\n\n\nLate last week\, the Judiciary Committee announced that it will be holding a hearing the same day in Room A-2 in the State House starting at 10 AM on a large number of bills\, including two other immigration bills that IMC members endorsed: the Dignity Not Deportations Act and the Immigrant Legal Defense Act.

While you can watch the hearing (and even submit testimony) online\, we hope you can join us to attend the hearing in person to show support for this bill that is urgently needed to protect immigrant rights and public safety. \n\n\n\nThe hearing begins at 11:30am and you’re welcome to meet us at the State House\, but we are also trying to organize carpools that will leave from Lexington and/or Arlington around 10am and arrive back mid-afternoon. DESCRIPTION:Are you a young person between 13 and 25 years old who is interested in taking action around preventing gun violence? Join us for our Team ENOUGH welcome session to learn more about the different ways you can engage. \n\n\n\nTeam ENOUGH is a youth-led program whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. Supported by Brady United\, we harness the expertise and experience of today’s youth to advance our intersectional work across the country. \n\n\n\nLed by an Executive Council\, comprised of students just like us\, we believe that diversity is a strength\, and that only when everyone has a seat at the table can we build an effective movement to prevent all gun violence in all communities. \n\n\n\nFor us\, preventing gun violence not only requires regulating access to firearms but also addressing how systemic racism and environmental factors cause this form of bloodshed to run especially rampant in communities of color.
