DHS funding expires at midnight on Friday\, Jan. 30. Congress is currently negotiating how to fund DHS moving forward. Democrats met our first demand that DHS cannot be funded business as usual\, and now we need Republicans to join them in finding the political will to meet this moment. The standouts are peaceful and offer support for those who must show up here. Signs expressing support for immigrants are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\nAs far as we know\, the Mall is continuing to restrict parking to mall shoppers only. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. That bus is free.\n\n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. DESCRIPTION:Shoveling 1:00-1:30 – standout 1:30-3:00; Carpool From Concord Visitor Center|Just like Bearing Witness in Burlington\, we will have a shovel brigade to clear out some of the area where we usually stand. Bring a shovel.We will need to clear some space to stand\, so bring your shovels!Although there have been a few sunny\, relatively warm days\, there is still little available parking – and our site remains under snow.Only 3 or 4  cars can park on Hanscom Dr. There is no available parking on Old Bedford Rd.We’ll  create a shuttle system from Concord Center – Meet at the parking lot by the  Concord visitor center (map below) at 1:00.  We currently have 4 drivers.  People who can provide rides for others can make a few trips and then park on Hanscom Drive.Or have someone drop you off at the rotary and pick you up at 3:00Bring your shovels and we will clear space for us to stand.  Wear good boots and gloves!Map of visitor’s center location  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDe-ICE Hanscom is a coalition organizing peaceful standouts with the goal of eliminating ICE transport flights from Hanscom Field. ICE is using these flights to swiftly move immigrants out of New England in order to hinder effective legal representation.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoalition groups include Boston Workers Circle\, Concord Indivisible\, Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN)\, Indivisible Acton Area\, Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action (JALSA)\, Lexington Alarm\, and Maynard Indivisible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up to get information and updates about our weekly standouts. DESCRIPTION:We are a NEW Central Mass Indivisible group called Worcester County Indivisible Alliance (WCIA) looking to bring people together for community\, education\, and initiatives that will make a real difference in these difficult times.  \n\n\n\nPlease attend our Worcester County bi-monthly Coffee Discussion Group\, created by one of our members to bring folks together for a smart and impactful discussion on current events.
