Note that no one has been towed since Jared and Laurie started protesting in April 2025. In order to be legally towned\, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266\, Section 120D specifies that in order for towing to occur you need to be warned by a sign or a person that parking is restricted. In addition\, the owner of the property must get permission from the chief of police or designee and provide certain information.

Note that no one has been towed since Jared and Laurie started protesting in April 2025. In order to be legally towned\, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266\, Section 120D specifies that in order for towing to occur you need to be warned by a sign or a person that parking is restricted. In addition\, the owner of the property must get permission from the chief of police or designee and provide certain information.

DESCRIPTION:Last fall\, Massachusetts progressives collected signatures for the stipend reform ballot question that would reduce the MA Legislature’s use of stipends or “loyalty pay” that makes legislators dependent on leadership for some of their salary. Now the Legislature has until early May to hold hearings and decide whether to pass legislation adopting the provisions.  \n\n\n\nOn Tuesday\, March 17\, at 11am\, the Special Joint Committee on Initiative Petitions\, which is co-chaired by Senator Cindy Friedman\, will conduct a hearing on the stipend reform ballot initiative (now filed as H.5010). You can testify at the hearing (in person or virtually) and/or submit written testimony no later than Saturday\, March 21. A livestream of the hearing will also be available on the Legislature’s website. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. SUMMARY:Postcards at Panera | Biweekly in North Andover
DESCRIPTION:Come join us to write postcards with Greater Andover Indivisible’s friendly community. Our overarching objective is to get progressive candidates into office approve progressive legislation / defeat MAGA legislation wherever possible.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAvailable postcard campaigns vary from week to week and by pick-up location. We write cards to key districts around the country to: – Provide info about voter registration and encourage people to register; – Remind people of upcoming elections and encourage voting by providing important information about when/where/how to vote; – Build name recognition for progressive candidates; – Inform people about what their MAGA elected officials are doing; – and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScripts vary but often use top-of-mind issues\, like healthcare and cost of living\, to attract recipients’ attention. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Updates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

DESCRIPTION:Want to show up to No Kings 3 on Saturday 3/28 with a killer sign\, but don’t know where to start? Come to our sign-making party in Brockton and we’ll take care of the hard part for you! \n\n\n\nMaybe you already have signs or are not up for protesting? Come to make a sign for someone else! \n\n\n\nThis will be an evening of creativity and community. Whether you’re a seasoned sign-maker or have never picked up a poster board in your life\, this is the place to be. We’ll have all the supplies you need — markers\, stencils\, poster board\, and examples to spark your creativity — so just bring yourself and your passion. Have your own supplies?
