We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. The parallels between events culminating in the Boston Massacre\, and those taking place today are striking. Like British troops back then\, ICE and CBP agents are occupying our cities to enforce\, even violently\, the whims of an autocrat. To highlight those parallels\, Neponset Valley Progressives and the Dedham Democratic Town Committee will sponsor a candlelight vigil in Dedham Square. On that date\, we will hold (already-created) signs bearing the names of each person killed by ICE and CBP along with those who have died in ICE custody. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn March 5\, 2026\, we gather in that same spirit for a candlelight vigil to remember those who have died in ICE custody and to resist policies that strip people of their rights. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe need at least 50 people to hold signs memorializing the 40+ people who have died in ICE custody since early 2025. We will supply the signs and candles. DESCRIPTION:Twenty volunteers will show drivers a sequence of twenty signs that show different symptoms of authoritarianism. It’s a bit of political theater.
