SUMMARY:Solidarity Mobilizations Training: ICE Out of MN and Everywhere
DESCRIPTION:Ready to build the power we need to stop ICE everywhere? \n\n\n\nJoin SURJ and our immigrant partner organization\, Solidarity Organizing Initiative\, for a training on organizing locally and being ready if ICE comes to your community. No experience is necessary—anyone who wants to take practical steps to build neighborhood-level power is welcome. \n\n\n\nWe’ll share lessons from Minneapolis\, where communities organized at the neighborhood level—parents coordinating school drop-off patrols\, neighbors looking out for one another\, and networks ready to mobilize when ICE showed up. \n\n\n\nMinneapolis showed what’s possible when communities are organized and now we’ll explore how to start that same groundwork where you live. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nStep by step\, we’ll explore how to get to know your neighbors\, build trust\, and prepare to act together if ICE comes to your town. \n\n\n\nThis call is for anyone and everyone\, including if you: \n\n\n\n\ntook action to support Minnesota and wants to understand what comes next\n\n\n\nare worried about ICE coming to your community and want to be prepared\n\n\n\nare new to organizing and want clear\, doable next steps\n\n\n\n\nShowing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ) is the largest organization that explicitly organizes white people towards racial and economic justice – all are welcome to do our work with us. SUMMARY:Bear Witness- Protest and Food Drive Wednesdays at ICE
DESCRIPTION:No standout in Burlington this Wednesday) Cancelled*Tomorrow’s standout (1/28/26) and special Veterans visit to Bearing Witness is CANCELLED due to snow conditions. A small group of regulars will stand out for continuity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“We invite you to stand in solidarity outside the ICE Enforcement & Removal Operations Office in Burlington every Wednesday from 11am-1pm. We’re grateful to those who have previously joined us at this facility\, and we hope that more will consider attending. Together\, we can show love & support for immigrants\, express our shame at ICE\, and bear witness to the cruel and unconstitutional actions of our government.”Schedule11:00-11:30\, Welcome chat; orientation for new folks; sign-making for those who need them11:30-12:30\, Stand (or sit) with signs12:30-1:00\, Short walk along the sidewalk on District AveThe ICE building in Burlington is the detention and enforcement office for New England. Immigrants must come here for appointments. The standouts are peaceful and offer support for those who must show up here. Signs expressing support for immigrants are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info & Email Updates\n\n\n\n\nAs far as we know\, the Mall is continuing to restrict parking to mall shoppers only. We continue to invite you to be creative while we work on a solution to this problem. If you scroll down further\, there are some suggested alternative parking possibilities. \n\n\n\nThere was a small group of counter-protesters again at the Saturday vigil\, and we may expect to see counter-protesters more regularly now. The important thing is to not engage with counter-protesters. Please ignore them. We will continue to peacefully exercise our first amendment rights. \n\n\n\nA weather reminder for our gatherings during the winter season — by default\, we will plan to gather\, and ask people to use their own judgment about what conditions are safe for them. Please do be safe. If Burlington schools close due to weather\, we will cancel the usual 11am-1pm public gathering and the organizing team will make some other arrangement to safely maintain the continuity of our vigil for that day that does not require the general public. \n\n\n\nAs usual\, this gathering outside ICE is a very targeted action; it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. We all care about many issues\, but each Wednesday we come together across differences. Regardless of your views on any other political or social issues\, if you support immigrants and their constitutional rights and are committed to nonviolence you are welcome to join us. We have a stash of signs and small U.S. flags that have been donated\, and you’re welcome to bring your own signs and U.S. flags if you have them. \n\n\n\nHere are some parking options that have been suggested\, while we explore a resolution with the mall or other options: \n\n\n\n\nFor those looking to switch to public transportation\, one option is the 350 Bus. This runs from Alewife to Burlington Mall Rd. You can park or bike to the Alewife T stop\, and the bus leaves Alewife at 10:46am and arrives at District Ave. at 11:15am.\n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can drive to Burlington and park at Simonds Park\, at Rev. Andrew’s United Church of Christ (6 Lexington St. Burlington\, MA)\, or at Rabbi Abramson’s Temple Shalom Emeth\, 16 Lexington St.\,and walk to the 350 bus stop at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Bedford St. That bus leaves at 11:09am and arrives at 11:17am. If you’d like to arrive before 11:00am\, there’s a bus that leaves an hour earlier at 10:09am.\n\n\n\nYou can park at Wegmans. 53 Third Avenue. Burlington\, MA 01803. The Lowell LRTA #14 bus goes by there and stops at Lexington and Mall Rd. That bus is free.\n\n\n\n\nBearing Witness attendees Tina & Jay continue to collect food pantry donations to help local immigrant families. You can drop off unopened food/health/household items by the tree.

There are a range of roles for volunteers who complete the training. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin this virtual one hour training by experienced peacekeeper Elaine Almquist. The training will cover: \n\n\n\nCommitment to non-violence\, the purpose of peacekeeping\, planning for safety\, peacekeeping positioning\, how peacekeeping differs from other roles\, de-escalation\, and debriefing.

SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\nFor parking\, please use the Macy’s overflow lot (75 Burlington Mall Road\, follow signs for Macy’s\, see map). For those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. Before arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. SUMMARY:Origami in Action: Birds of Peace & Compassion
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue to learn the basics of origami\, and explore various types of birds. We will discuss using our newly learned in skills in creating origami as a protest art. You are welcome to come\, relax\, and join us in simply creating origami. \n\n\n\nOr\, you have the option to join us in the following action…. \n\n\n\nWe hope to create as many origami birds as possible. Long considered a symbol of peace and hope\, we plan to come together and deliver them to the nearest ice detention center on President’s Day\, February 16\, 2026. \n\n\n\nPerhaps we’ll gather them in a garland to hang on a fence or from a tree. It won’t matter if there is one bird or an entire flock—the symbolism is the same: In these times of chaos and lack of empathy\, where hatred is made acceptable\, we will stand together for peace. We will stand for the love of one another. We will recognize the inherent worth of all of us\, no matter from where we come. We will reaffirm that all people deserve to be treated with respect\, justice\, equity and compassion. \n\n\n\nWe welcome you to join us. \n\n\n\n\nMore Info and Register for Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nFeel free to contact us with any questions you might have\, at salemscall@yahoo.com. \n\n\n\nThis is a free workshop. Donations appreciated\, but certainly not required. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:racial justice: peaceful presence needed in brockton court
DESCRIPTION:This is an urgent call for community presence. We are sharing from our friends at the NAACP Cape Cod Branch.  \n\n\n\n“We are asking those who are able to attend the upcoming bail hearing regarding Alex Greene to stand in quiet\, respectful support of the District Attorney’s position to have him returned to custody until his hearing.”  \n\n\n\nThis murder happened in Hyannis\, but this appeal has been moved out of district\, as mentioned below. We are unsure if any leadership from our group can attend\, but we know there will be a representative from the NAACP Cape Cod branch in attendance.  \n\n\n\nThis case involves the most serious level of alleged violence and the loss of a life. Moments like this matter. Courtrooms do not exist in isolation — they serve the community — and it is important that the Court sees that the community is present\, attentive\, and deeply concerned about safety\, accountability\, and the integrity of the justice process. \n\n\n\nYour presence helps demonstrate that this decision carries real impact beyond the courtroom walls. \n\n\n\nThis is a show of responsible\, dignified community support for due process and public safety. \n\n\n\n\nVisit Event Site to Learn More\n\n\n\n\nThis an Indivisible event! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence\, impunity\, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nAvelo Airlines has become the first commercial airline to contract with ICE for secretive deportation flights—flights with no guarantees of due process or legal counsel. We’re organizing nationwide to make it politically and publicly impossible for them to keep profiting from human rights abuses. Our targets include the airports where Avelo operates\, universities that may have ongoing partnerships with Avelo\, and states and localities subsidizing them with public dollars. Whether you’re planning a protest\, a teach-in\, a visibility action\, or a meeting with decision-makers\, your event is part of a growing movement to force Avelo to cancel its ICE contract and to send a clear message to every other corporation: if you cooperate with deportation\, you’ll face consequences. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We expect hosts to ensure all participants in your event uphold this commitment.
