Join us for our Team ENOUGH welcome session to learn more about the different ways you can engage. \n\n\n\nTeam ENOUGH is a youth-led program whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. Supported by Brady United\, we harness the expertise and experience of today’s youth to advance our intersectional work across the country. \n\n\n\nLed by an Executive Council\, comprised of students just like us\, we believe that diversity is a strength\, and that only when everyone has a seat at the table can we build an effective movement to prevent all gun violence in all communities. \n\n\n\nFor us\, preventing gun violence not only requires regulating access to firearms but also addressing how systemic racism and environmental factors cause this form of bloodshed to run especially rampant in communities of color. DESCRIPTION:The Legislature has scheduled a hearing on the Safe Communities Act for Tuesday\, November 25 in Gardner Auditorium at the State House. While you can watch the hearing (and even submit testimony) online\, we hope you can join us to attend the hearing in person to show support for this bill that is urgently needed to protect immigrant rights and public safety. \n\n\n\nThe hearing begins at 11:30am and you’re welcome to meet us at the State House\, but we are also trying to organize carpools that will leave from Lexington and/or Arlington around 10am and arrive back mid-afternoon. SUMMARY:SIT IN for Democracy\, Stand Up for Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting a peaceful sit in protest outside of the JFK Presidential Library on the anniversary of his death\, November 22nd\, in opposition to his nephew RFK Jr.’s actions as Secretary of Health & Human Services. This will be a peaceful\, nonviolent gathering to draw attention to RFK Jr.’s restructuring\, budget cuts\, and spread of misinformation on vaccines. \n\n\n\nThis a local Indivisible event! \n\n\n\nWe will be meeting around 9am and plan to stay until around 12pm. We are flexible\, however\, and open to suggestions about practicalities from anyone familiar with the area. We will bring poster board and markers for those interested in drawing signs though all are encouraged to bring their own. \n\n\n\n\nRSVP for updates\n\n\n\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
