SUMMARY:Justice 4 All Thursdays
DESCRIPTION:Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN) invites you to stand in solidarity with immigrants and resistance to ICE and their cruel and lawless detention of our neighbors Thursdays from 11am-1pm. Regardless of any other political views\, you are welcome to join us and demand Justice 4 All so long as you do so non-violently. \n\n\n\nOur friends at Bearing Witness have been hosting gatherings at this location for many weeks. We are an unaffiliated group\, but very much aligned with their values and mission. Our goal is to add to the total number of hours that citizens stand in non-violent opposition to the deplorable detainment conditions at this location. If you have been to Bearing Witness on Wednesdays\, we would love to have you at Justice 4 All Thursdays. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n11:00-11:30 Welcome; music; announcements11:30-12:30 Stand with signs along District Ave12:30-1:00 Optional short march down to Mall Rd. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Email List\n\n\n\nRead past Substack articles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime to Re-Stock\n\n\n\nComfort Cart Running Low on Food Staples \n\n\n\nNow that it is a 5-day/week operation\, the Comfort Cart can run low on food quickly. Please consider bringing a bag of food or donating cash using the Venmo QR below. \n\n\n\nYour generosity is always appreciated. Thank you! \n\n\n\n\n\nWeather \n\n\n\nAll attendees are ultimately responsible for making their own decisions about travel.  The organizers are going to use the following guidelines to modify or cancel events in advance.  A sudden change in conditions just before or during events\, such as a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning\, could happen and organizers will do their best to communicate any decisions appropriately. \n\n\n\n\n\nNo change to event:Normal to heavy RainWindy\, but no warningsLight snow on ground\, but not falling \n\n\n\nCancel:Burlington schools cancelledTemp/Wind Chill < 20FStorm advisory with snow or high wind predictedFreezing rain falling or predicted \n\n\n\n\n\nShorten event in advance\, limit to standout:Temp/Wind Chill < 30FTemp Ok\, but ground wetDeep snow in grassy area\, sidewalks clear \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens at this ICE office? \n\n\n\nICE personnel depart from District Ave. in unmarked vans with tinted windows on missions to abduct immigrants across New England. Immigrants may also show up at the office for appointments. The facility on District Ave was never intended to be a detention center\, yet immigration lawyers and media interviews reveal that people are now being housed here in conditions that have been called “abysmal” and “unsanitary.” \n\n\n\nWhat to expect at Justice 4 All? \n\n\n\nWe are committed to nonviolence\, and we stand peacefully with signs outside the facility. We do not block the entrance\, we do not physically approach ICE agents as they walk to/from the parking lot\, and we do not block traffic on District Ave. \n\n\n\nSigns \n\n\n\nThis is a very targeted action outside the ICE facility\, so it’s not the venue for protesting other causes. Even though we care deeply about other issues\, while outside ICE we must remain focused on immigration.  \n\n\n\nParking and other tips \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those with mobility challenges\, please keep in mind that the lots closest to ICE — the FAA lot beside ICE and the BAE Systems lot directly across the street from ICE — have both been blocked off. There are restaurants nearby (Clover\, Pressed Cafe\, Chipotle) to get food and use the bathroom. \n\n\n\n\n\nBefore arriving\, please consider your own self-preservation (citizenship status) and self-care (sunscreen\, hydration\, etc.). \n\n\n\nIf you would like to receive updates on Justice4All Thursdays and reminders of our events\, please add your email below to join our list. We’re excited to reinforce the work of our friends at Bearing Witness and to support our immigrant neighbors. We hope that you will join us. \n\n\n\nSee you in Burlington! \n\n\n\n~Justice4All Thursdays organizers and the Greater Assabet Indivisible Network

SUMMARY:Spotlight on LexisNexis: The Hidden Data Pipeline From Your 911 Call to ICE
DESCRIPTION:What happens to your information when you call 911? Thousands of local law enforcement agencies are sharing their records — 911 caller data\, victim information\, witness information and more — with LexisNexis\, a private data broker that sells access to federal agencies including ICE. This often happens without local officials and citizens realizing it\, even in communities with sanctuary policies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin this De-ICE Action Network webinar to learn about this little-known data pipeline and what you can do to prevent local police departments from sharing sensitive private data with federal immigration enforcement and other agencies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter: Shawn Segal\, Public Interest Researcher at FinePrint\, an investigative outlet covering mass surveillance\, privacy and policing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho should attend: Organizers\, advocates\, local officials and staff\, and anyone who wants to know how their community’s data may be helping fuel ICE’s cruel agenda. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration required. We hope to see you live\, but please register even if you can’t make it! All registrants will receive a recording to watch later\, along with a toolkit for taking action. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP for Link\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a De-ICE Action Network Spotlight Series webinar. Learn more and join us to shine a light on ICE’s corporate enablers through strategic\, peaceful action at de-iceaction.org.

SUMMARY:Protect the Ballot - Ask Anything
DESCRIPTION: Thursday\, October 22\, 2026   4:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM PT  \n\n\n\n  Register HERE \n\n\n\nWe will begin with three brief updates on opportunities to strengthen election transparency and verification: \n\n\n\n–  Susan Greenhalgh of Free Speech For People will introduce FSFP’s campaign to ensure that vote totals uploaded into election results systems are checked against the totals printed on voting machines’ poll tapes. She will discuss how you can encourage your state and local officials to adopt this important verification step. [Read about the initiative here.] \n\n\n\n–  Aileen Nakamura of Scrutineers will update us on their initiative for collecting and reporting poll tapes and explain how you can participate. \n\n\n\n– Marilyn Marks will cover a bit about the predictable escalating problems in Georgia\, where the State Election Board has recklessly asked the DOJ to intervene in the election. The ballot secrecy concerns we discussed in March (!) remain unresolved even in the face of our discovery in July that AI chatbots can trace most ballot records back to the individual voter. Officials are refusing to provide Georgia voters with an ability to cast a non-traceable ballot.   \n\n\n\nThe bulk of our time will be devoted to your questions. What concerns are you seeing in your local jurisdiction? Where are you running into obstacles? What would help you decide which last-minute actions could make the greatest difference? Bring your questions about election observation\, transparency\, ballot protections\, results verification\, and other concerns arising in your community. \n\n\n\n  Please submit questions HERE. Your questions will help us prepare a discussion that is useful to the work you are doing. \n\n\n\n  Find previous Protect the Ballot recordings and reference materials HERE.   \n\n\n\nThere is still meaningful work we can do together in these final weeks and through the vote counting and verification of results. Thank you for showing up\, staying engaged\, and helping build the local oversight that trustworthy elections require. We look forward to hearing from you and supporting your efforts.

SUMMARY:No on 5 Phone Bank
DESCRIPTION:Backed by wealthy investors and CEOs\, the dark-money Massachusetts Opportunity Alliance (MOA) is backing Question 5: a reckless ballot initiative that would impose a strict ‘revenue cap’ on Massachusetts and slash funding for classrooms\, hospitals\, and first responders across the state. Question 5 would force repeated cuts to state and local public services; lead to layoffs for teachers\, nurses\, and firefighters; and make healthcare\, childcare and housing more expensive. It would give billions to the rich while the rest of us suffer from cuts\, and severely limit the state’s ability to recover from recessions. Wealthy investors put Question 5 on the ballot because they don’t need public services themselves. Don’t be fooled: vote NO on 5 to protect the programs that make Massachusetts families and communities strong. \n\n\n\n\nGet Zoom Link\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to call voters and ensure they have a plan to Vote NO on question 5 in November!
