DESCRIPTION:A Day of Creative Resistance \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a powerful day of creative resistance! We are deeply inspired by the history of Project Tsuru—a movement of Japanese-American WWII detainment camp survivors and allies who have left origami cranes at ICE facilities nationwide to protest family separation and human rights abuses. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome stand with us as we bring this powerful tradition of solidarity and justice to our community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🎒 Mutual Aid Drive: We will be actively collecting food donations during the event to directly support individuals and families immediately upon their release from the facility. Please bring shelf-stable staples like pasta\, peanut butter\, canned tuna\, tomato sauce\, white or brown rice\, canned black or pinto beans\, and rolled oatmeal to contribute. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect:\n\n\n\n\nCreative Protest: A striking visual display of 1\,000+ handmade origami cranes.\n\n\n\nSpeakers & Education: Learn about the history of Project Tsuru\, the critical importance of local advocacy\, and utilizing art as a tool for social change.\n\n\n\nCommunity: Featuring guest speakers\, live music\, and collective action.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n📬 How to participate: No prior origami experience is necessary! All materials will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own folded cranes if you’ve been crafting at home.
